How is the GFY "Search" set up ?
ive been wondering about this for awhile....
my name "shemp" is mentioned in this thread many times.... http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=897103 but when i do a search for "shemp" that thread doesnt show up at all. and neither do many other recent threads ... so how does the GFY search work ? |
or when you search for created threads by username..
|
i think they dont index it regularly
|
I think it's like kids with washing dishes... if they perform bad enough, they won't be asked anymore.
|
how does it work?
like shit |
It takes awhile for the new threads to be included in searches.

I guess the 'not updated yet' answer makes the most sense, but then again I would've figured it would've been a feature that operated much like the "find" feature in word or windows, not requiring regular updates... *shrugs* |
SQL queries.

It has been jacked for about a year now. I mentioned it long ago but no one seemed to care.

To be honest, upon my return I thought this place had improved a great deal from where it was a couple years ago. |
One thing that bugs me is if you search for something and no results are found, that page comes up instantly but you still have to wait 2 minutes or whatever to search again.
I have noticed many things that aren't indexed also which can be a good thing sometimes |
i notice that when is did my last search for Shemp

I find threads a little easier by doing this:
Google.com > site:gfy.com "search whatever" |
