It is impossible for tube sites to kill the online porn industry
people will always want porn. period. at the point that it becomes not profitable for producers to produce porn for the web, the supply will dry up, thus forcing people to pay for porn if they want it. a reverse catch 22 of sorts. :2 cents: thoughts?

Vintage Porn Sites are hot!
I agree but not for the reasons you listed or at leaqst there is allot more to it |
Yes, because they will need content producers to shoot new content for them to steal.

There will always be a porn industry and part of it will be online.
But if we don't change course the size of this industry will be a lot smaller. Size does matter. |

90% GFY'ers will be working in mcdonalds 5 years from now, but the 10% will still be here, so technically the industry will be alive
|
This one is for the win ...
|
once the content they steal becomes too stale and much less new content is produced tubes will start producing content themselves
so porn will never die just change |

New porn surfers appear online every day, and for them the tube sites and the content they provide, are all new and exciting - AND FREE! No one is going to get "bored" by the hundreds of thousands of clips you can find throughout thousands of free tube sites anytime soon. On top of it all, there are tons of studios who are now LICENSING their scenes to tube sites, so that even the tube sites that are not blatently "stealing" their content, still get updated on a regular basis anyway. Someone in this thread referenced "vintage porn" as still being very popular - 20, 30, 40 years later! As long as it is "new-to-me" most surfers will continue to be 100% satisfied by 100% free porn via the tube sites. Tube sites suck shit, and will only get worse. They compete for visitors by offering longer clips than their competition, more videos than their competition, and soon - higher resolution videos will be the next evolution. Until a law is introduced to change the status quo; like all tubes must be 2257 compliant for example, or bandwidth fees go way up, or a number of lawsuits against the big players are successful, or some of the large tube site owners all begin experiencing some sort of "accidents" then the tubes will kill the subscriber based sites, or at least 90% of them. All until the next big change occurs in online porn, which will be an interactive webcam model, with robotic devices and super hi res, 360 cameras. |

As a quick follow-up:
The MGP market is definitely changing. Some promotional "tube" (flash) sites that promote sites via 2 min MAXIMUM teaser clips are useful for paysite owners, and are not the same as those who are massive, and chock full of lengthy and stolen content. Just wanted to make the distinction clear. Thanks.... |

Or, at least it's not nearly as big a deal as most people make it out to be. Think of it this way, lots of people have memberships to more than one site at a time. Why would they buy a membership to a 2nd site when the 1st one has full length movies? |
Thank god we have another thread on this subject with someones opinion. The 593 other threads weren't enough yet.

So you're saying it will be some kind of equalibrium? That's only in an extreme case I think. It will never come to that.
