Who can do sharp mainstream blog's and answer a few questions?

I'm looking for someone who can do sharp, simple, and clean mainstream blogs.

There would have to be a very small investment of time on their behalf because I do have a couple of beginner questions, but I'm not ignorant by any means. Blogs just aren't my area of expertise.

The benefit of this is that they would have a lifetime customer who is very loyal.

Really looking for someone to do the design and set me up with the basics.

Would love to see some honest quotes from "good people", without inflated ego's :thumbsup

I know I will probably get some smart ass responses, but you'd be surprised what decent folks you can meet when you just ask for them :thumbsup

Thanks again for any helpful replies,

just reply here on e-mail me via webmaster AT xoffa.com

:upsidedow

$1500 to start, if you want a real designer, other then that go with half these lames on GFY.

Diomed 04-23-2009 11:06 AM

Thanks but no thanks Z,

I had a real problem with the lack of time and effort you put into your work and designs,

and I should have never given you half down last time. You literally took 20 minutes on a 400 dollar project and it looked like a pre-schooler did it. A wasted 200 dollars to say the least.

It was one of the most pathetic attempts at good business I have ever seen, and I will never forget it.

So thanks, but no thanks.

Just so everyone knows, I'm not a dick head or unreasonable in any way shape or form, if you would have witnessed what I did you would have been just as shocked as me.

Bump for my designers and more importantly - good, honest, and logical people.

MetaMan 04-23-2009 11:08 AM

who the fuck is Z?

Diomed 04-23-2009 11:11 AM

Meta,

your designs are very clean man.. that's exactly what I'm looking for.

But I've already shopped with Dickman's and other high-priced designers and in the end the quality to price to function ratio just isn't worth it to me personally.

I love your work though, seems like you've perfected that web 2.0 look. If I had a bigger budget for this blog I would definitely pick you, and we might do some work in the future for a "more important" project. But the whole point of this project for me personally is going to be seo, and relatively low start up cost (that doesn't mean dirt cheap so please don't assume).

Thanks for replying with that e-mail, all bullshit aside I definitely might hit you up in the future on that.

None of this would be close to a problem if Tim wasn't so damn busy.

Bump for good peoples!

Sorry,

thanks for that! I should have clarified.

I was talking about CZARINA in that follow up post.

It was a fucking terrible experience, and I don't suggest it to anyone.

I was really surprised to see how many "blog" domains are still available.

I snagged two mainstream domains with major search terms like - www.keywordblog.com .

They seem to be very seo friendly and get indexed well, so it couldn't hurt.

what good is the keyword "blog" in a domain?

how many surfers are really interested in seacrhing for the keyword "blog" unless it is in some narrow categories such as news and/or bloggers searching for other bloggers.... but for the average subject I've never seen any value for the keyword "blog" in the domain name. :2 cents:

If you want sharp, use the professional wordpress guys, they are coders/designers etc, designs are beyond what 98% of people can do. They are paid themes, but paying for them gives you support, and access to the forums.

Some of the nicest blogs on the net are running themes from above 2 places, and there is more premium outlets with high quality themes, almost more of a CMS then a theme.

He is saying that the other word is the keyword like pornblog.com - "porn" is the keyword

You must have me confused with someone else.

I was married to a web-model, not a porn star, and we got a divorce.

I don't recall being whipped, nor going nuts :)

since we can't show most mainstream samples here and we're mainly doing political campaign blogs, just showing a couple samples, if you like the style or are interested in knowing more, please contact me at webmaster |át| dorve |dot| com :)

http://dorve.com/wpsamples/popper-black.png
http://dorve.com/wpsamples/popper-white.png
http://dorve.com/wpsamples/fashion-report.png

All our blogs include AJAX features, special admin area to change styles and some configuration settings on the fly, valid xhtml and full support. We do political, CMS, magazine, photoblogs and regular blogs.

btw, our prices are "mainstream-nish" and according to the high quality of our work, but we can always work out something. However, we don't do $150 custom blogs, just in case

Diomed 04-24-2009 09:53 AM

Thanks for the great responses people,

I will be following up on those who replied.

Really appreciate it :2 cents:

Well I just searched "blowjob" and "gloryhole" and "blowjobblog" and "gloryholeblog" are in the first 5 results on google.

That was the first two I tried, I'm sure there are many others as well. So they seem to have no problem getting high ranking with the word "blog" in them :winkwink:

you completely missed the point, I just said that the keyword "blog" was weak, I didn't say it would hurt search results in and of itself

the main thing that helped those sites get in the top 5 has more to do with their age (6 year old sites) and good aged backlinks....... they could have been named "blowjobkxysdf.com" and would be sitting in the exact same spot in the serps for blowjob with everything else being equal :2 cents:

I can, but im booked for the next couple months

I see what you are saying,

but what I'm saying is that these are large keywords (2 million + searches a month) for the two domains I secured.

So for instance if it "porn" was the search terms I would have "pornblog.com". They domains themselves are already on google suggestions search filler, and already have about 2000 searches monthly for the exact domains.

To me this is a bonus, I already have one indexed in google under it's name in just 4 days.. no .com

:)
