Iphone users inside pls
After using my ipod touch it looked almost natural to try iphone, what stops me now its negative feedback about its battery. Can anyone comment how long does it last if you make 10 calls a day 2 minutes each, listen to music say 30 minutes, browse and use ICQ say for an hour... can it be more then 2-3 days? Or you recharge daily?

I recharge mine daily and if I am going out in the evening I will generally have to top up the battery at some point but as its USB and I tend to add new music quite often its not so bad just a bit of a pain in the ass. The apps can use up the battery life up quite quick. If in doubt buy an emergency iPod batt.:2 cents: |
i have to recharge it at least once a day...its such a drawback to the good features
|
Maybe 2 days MAX. The battery life is not the best. I listen to music for about an hour and a half at the gym with headphones, make about 15-20 callsa day and mess around on the internet and/or watch news clips. It's the best phone I've ever had though.. I know some of the other smartphones have more features but I still prefer the Iphone for all the available apps, ease of use and size, (it's thinner than half a stack of cards, every other smartphone out there is a bulky turd).

I recharge mine daily but I use it for a good 3 hours a day (texting, emailing and using apps). It doesnt need a recharge until late night. I know there is a cover you can buy with an extended battery pack for about $90 at the Apple store. I think the battery life is pretty good though for the amount I use it.

the phone is great At&T service and reception here in california sucks , thats all

I have had both the first gen and second. The seconds battery life is better. I'm not a power user, only make a few calls a day, but I play live poker on it a lot, sometimes 1-2 hours a day. I find I have to charge every 2-3 days.

Thanks Stephen and others, it looks like I would still need to carry a backup old school phone in the pocket in case iphone dies :)

You people are MO-rons.
1. If you properly break the battery in and, 2. Don't go full retard on apps and, 3. Don't have the phone auto pull email, 4. Turn to airplane mode at night, It will last for several days at a time. It is 8:04A here. I last charged my iPhone at 11P Wed. night and the battery indicator shows 75% or so. The iPhone has the longest lasting battery in the cellphone world. |
Hi Automix -
What Exotic Gold said is right. I have been using my Iphone for months now and I Love it. The battery lasts a long time. I talk on it alot, and when I'm not talking I'm listening to music, downloading from itunes, watching videos, downloading new aps, and managing my business all via my Iphone. GET THIS: I have an APP for it now that is a Heads-up Display for my car!! You turn it on, toss it on your dash, and it tells you how fast your're going by reflecting the image in the windshield. Even better, it alerts me to all of the Photo-Radar locations, telling me to slow down before I get a ticket. BRILLIANT. Whatever your phone is now - Toss it - get an iphone. It's the most futuristic, fun and useful gadget I've ever owned. |
with an Ipod Touch I liked touch interface a lot and being an experienced Win mobile user i can tell Iphone wins in usability, sometimes i want to slam my win mobile device onto the wall!!! Well, so some smart battery life usage applies... other then that I had another thing that disappointed me, being outside USA i cant shop in US Itunes, unless i get someone register for me and use his CC to by me apps, lol.

FUCK AT&T |
I have found out when i'm usually low in battery and out and about and can't afford for my battery to die I can go for quite a while with 3G turned off.
Turn off 3G: Using 3G cellular networks loads data faster, but may also decrease battery life, especially in areas with limited 3G coverage. To disable 3G, from the Home screen choose Settings > General > Network and set Enable 3G to Off. You will still be able to make and receive calls and access cellular data networks via EDGE or GPRS where available. Also WiFi & Bluetooth drain it |

if you want to save your batter, then turn off blue tooth, wifi, location services, 3G (thats a big battery killer), data push and auto checking of email and you phone will probably last for 2 days without a charge. only turn those things on when you need them.
Mine last me no more than a day between charging. I use the phone a LOT and I dont use the 3G network at all. when i would my phone is done within a few hours, but this saves the battery life to a couple more hours. ive actually had my iPhone on for almost 3 days without it dying with "normal" use, but just depends on how much you do with it |
i leave all that shit on, plug it in at night, it makes it through the day, repeat.

Thanks, Bruce, 100% they lied about 3G browsing speed.

I use my iphone all day long much more than 10 calls at 2 minutes. I often also use the ipod features for my car.
I don't need to charge it every night. But my friends always seem to be running around looking for their blackberry chargers... *shrug* |
