Long time, no see! (Mac question - OS install)
I miss you guys!!!!!
I have been crazy busy with a mainstream client. The NBC thing is doing a re-launch soon, Ashley is getting a puppy, and Life is grand. Buuuuut... I just bought Leopard OS for my older Macbook. Only to find out the DVD drive will not work. How can I install? I have the install DVD & another Mac laptop. I have External Hard drives, but none I can wipe clean. Do I need to buy a clean external HD? Or an external DVD drive? Sheeeeesh |
They always return. ;)
Here's a bump. |
hey, Pink. Glad to see that you are doing well.
You will need to buy an external DVD drive or Burner. |
Can he firewire into it.. if he has another computer with a dvd drive, can he use it as a slave kind of thing by holding down t when he starts up the mac he wants to install on?
Sorry if that makes no sense lol |

Haaaalllll!!!!
Hit me up this week when you get a "free" minute |
This is insane, but:
Connect a firewire cable between the machines. Feed the DVD into your secondary mac and boot it while holding down the letter 'T'. This should start it in firewire disc mode. You should see a big firewire icon on the desktop. Boot the target one and hold down Option; it should show the other mac in firewire disc mode as a boot selection. Choose the DVD drive, and pray like hell. |
