My purse, phone, money was stolen and my house may be being robbed as we speak

So I am great....
Just fucking great.
Last night I leave my bag in the car for one hour to walk around the beach with a friend.
I had just done pilates, and on days that I work out I only take a large gym bag and shove all of my crap in there. So my pilates clothes conveniently are a tight tank and tight stretch pants with no pockets.

So it was me thinking should I carry this huge bag of crap around with me while I walk around the beach? I thought no-just took my Id and credit card out, ask my friend to put it in his pocket and walked with this friend. I come back an hour later and my bag is gone.

My clothes, glasses, some money, my phone and my keys.

I have no ones number in the world memorized.....I haven't been home in 24 hours, I'm afraid someone has ransacked my planner which was in my bag which has my address subtly somewhere in the middle (not like-hey here's where I live come rob me). The phone and glasses and other stuff I can replace, although it will be expensive. I've filed a police report, of course.

I'm most worried about some bastard freak putting two and two together, finding out where I live and robbing me since he now has the keys to my building and my apartment key.

I am fucking sick with worry.
Please no "you were stupid to leave your bag in the car."
I sure as fuck know and the worry and stomach ache I've had for the past 14 hours, combined with the borrowed clothes and underwear I'm wearing (mine were all gross after a pilates work out) have made me curse myself and the son of a bitch bastard who stole from me and who may be possibly robbing my apartment as we speak.....

Fin
:(

Domain Diva 05-12-2009 11:46 PM

wow.....sorry to hear that...hope everything works out ok for you :(

Hope that maybe the person doesnt know your apartment is empty and just takes the credit cards etc and dumps the rest...

I did something simlar, left a huge amount of cash in the car glove compartment as l was only gone 3-4 minutes .....yep gone when l got back !!

SilkySnatch 05-12-2009 11:47 PM

Did you call the management of the apt complex so they can change the locks on the building.. Hate for one of your neighbors to become victim to some thief in the building..

Sorry about everything :(

rowan 05-12-2009 11:47 PM

Why haven't you gone home in the past 14 hours? Go with a trusted friend or group of friends and get a locksmith to change the locks ASAP. :2 cents:

I went to my boyfriend's house because the landlord lives an huor away and couldn't make it ant about 11 pm (makes sense). She is changing my lock today. She is not however, changing the lock to the outside building. It is some fucking weird ass complicated lock and she claims it's too much of a hassle/burden.

Lets just say I am imagining the worst and not in a good mood....at all

Elli 05-12-2009 11:50 PM

Yikes, that's rough :( Silky had a good idea, I think. Also maybe have some friends stay overnight in your place for a few nights until the locks are fixed.

Your biggest mistake is telling webmasters on GFY that you have a BF....

I did. She's going to change the lock on my door but not the lock to the building which she claims is too complicated and expensive.
My landlord is a cheap bitch, by the way...

You were not stupid for leaving your bag in the car, but it is slightly wrong to not contact them....

Oh I did....
and she is only changing my lock.....
Not the building's lock=stupid and cheap and totally unsafe because this thief can figure out where I live if he is smart enough

sexandcash 05-12-2009 11:54 PM

Oh yes, and I have to pay for my new lock because I am "causing her trouble."
I don't know if this is fair or not but I'm just really upset about the whole situation right now.....

We are lucky in our block...everyone has a personal coded keyfob they just scan on the outside door, then if someone loses it or has it stolen they can deactivate and issue a new one (cost $25 to replace) but well worth it .

Barefootsies 05-12-2009 11:59 PM

Sorry toe hear dat tootsie.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Be thankful that she isnt charging you a service charge as well.

yes I guess that seems fair...I'm just pretty upset at the moment at the idea of someone in my apartment robbing me blind so my judgment is a little lacking at the moment.....

rowan 05-13-2009 12:08 AM

If the landlord was going to charge anyway I would have had a locksmith do it immediately. When our front door was forced (with me behind it) I had the locksmith put on a temporary deadbolt for the night, just for peace of mind, until he could order the proper one the next day. It's the first step towards getting over it.

Did you leave your car unlocked?

This all happened because you look so much like Avril. I would head to the nearest walmart and buy a 12 gauge shot gun.

No I didn't.
The mother fucker broke the back window and opened the car thus opening the lock.

CyberHustler 05-13-2009 12:32 AM

MediaGuy 05-13-2009 12:49 AM

Wasn't me. I swear. I was locked up in Gordon's cage...

But seriously, get yourself some company for a night or two, go home, and fix your lock by having an extra deadbolt put in.

If the landlord wants the key, tell her she'll get one when she changes the front lock.

Then order a shitload of beer and pizza and have all your friends over for a party.

Serious.

:D

I am definitely doing it....:thumbsup

party-I'm saving my cash to replace the shit stolen-like new glasses (mine were expensive) and my clothes and some money and all that wonderful stuff :(

SmokeyTheBear 05-13-2009 12:59 AM

i betcha he has been hiding in your crawl space for 2 days eating stale pepperoni and drinking gatorade , urinating on your clothes, waiting for all the locks to be changed, waiting for you to finally feel safe , then he will slip out while you are sleeping , tie you up and chop you into little pieces.

or maybe not ..good night..sweet dreams

sexandcash 05-13-2009 01:00 AM

Oh yes and just for the record....going around in my neighbors underwear (clean of course, and worn inside out because it's creepy like that) is fucking demeaning.....demeaning....

And I'm wearing her sweats to work and look like a bag lady....

It's been less than 1 day since being robbed-so if here were in the non-existent crawl space he'd be pretty impressively good......

Make your friends pitch in. You need it, and they'll understand.

Geeze.

SmokeyTheBear 05-13-2009 01:03 AM

p.s. if you want the front building lock changed and the landlord is bitching just let your neighbours know a burglar has the keys to the building ..

Fully intend to let them know what a fucking tightwad she is and how she's setting us up for a robbery :thumbsup

I mean, because I'm doubting in the whole history of her owning the building of complexes...no one ever lost their key or got their bag stolen

PornMD 05-13-2009 01:42 AM

I've had a stereo stolen the same exact way - back window broken etc., right in the neighborhood. Fucking kids probably. Hopefully the thief won't try any shit on your home. Good luck with the situation.

No offense and I am sorry your stuff got stolen but you cant expect your landlord to pay for new locks because you lost your keys.

Vitasoy 05-13-2009 03:14 AM

I'm pretty positive and life is pretty good in general. I'm just incredibly sleep deprived, wearing borrowed clothes and out a lot of money from some punk ass mother fucker.

Agent 488 05-13-2009 04:25 AM

it was probably some junky or crack head. don't read too much into it. what they couldn't sell they just threw in the trash. you're not dealing with a james bond villan here ...

OldJeff 05-13-2009 04:26 AM

I think you are worrying too much, chances are a smash and grab guy breaking car windows and taking bags is not going to take the time to find your address, and try to go into what you are describing as an apartment building.

Too many possible witnesses, etc, and too many other "bags left in cars to grab"

I am not trying to make light of your situation at all, sucks when your space get violated, just the chance of the theif showing up at your place is really small.

You're probably right.....probably.
But it's just very scary when someone has all of your personal information.
"Err on the side of caution" and that kind of thing.....

I agree....but I'd rather be extra cautious than just write it off and be *possibly* robbed at home later down the line.....

An ounce of prevention, kind of thing....

Agent 488 05-13-2009 04:36 AM

once your locks are changed you have nothing to worry about.

Ross 05-13-2009 04:42 AM

Get a friend to kick your door in and say the robber has been to your apartment. Pretty sure the landlord will change the locks then.

bausch 05-13-2009 04:47 AM

i'd rather wear no underwear than a neighbors underwear.. actually i find underwear not even necessary 99 percent of the time...
