Acai berry craze fucks up impoverished Brazilian indians
The downside of globalized diet crazes, as global demand for what was a "poor man's food" crop increases, its price skyrockets... messing up impoverished communities. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...hmY&refer=home
Side note: mainstream marketers make a mint off the acai berry craze. Just don't go overboard or you'll have the FTC on your ass like white on rice. http://www.shoemoney.com/2009/03/26/...fire-from-ftc/ |
I can't believe people are falling for this scam. I mean it's healthy, but less than most fruits you can get at your supermarket.

Interesting how the net is starting to come full-circle...early on, people were like "who tf in their right mind would EVER give a website their CC info?" - then it became commonplace enough to the point where people have been throwing money around like crazy online, and now with all the scammy shit happening, the pendulum is starting to swing back and it's going to hurt a lot of newer online establishments (people pretty much know they can trust a Walmart or Amazon but not necessarily a new site). It's unfortunate too...fucking scammers need to just figure out how to legitimately make money, stick to that instead of scamming people, and ride the wave like the rest of us netrepreneurs.

Was the old word so damn hard to get or understand, did not not realistically apply or make sense when applied? While I am at it, pronounce that. Now try again outloud without trying to sound like either a douche or breaking some grin. |
