Is it fair to ask for a 5-10K test run through our program before buying traffic?
 

No test run = You have crap traffic and know for a fact you'll lose the advertising lead if you send any. So we are happy not to advertise with you.

Test run = You have confidence in your traffic and you have a very good chance of gaining a new advertiser if the traffic is decent.

My question is, if you have decent traffic why wouldn't you send a test run if asked for it, especially when you're getting paid for it?

I think it really depends on who is ASKING for the test.

I wouldn't give a free test to someone I've never heard about.

Who gives a shit about being fair. If I have a site and you want to buy spots on it, I want to rape your wallet asap before you realize my traffic sucks ass.

If you are not willing to do a paid test, then your not willing to step up to the plate. Gotta show traffic sellers your legit also.

We do prepaid tests for smaller amounts of traffic when we start working with someone. If they are not willing to do this we don't buy. Im personally not a huge fan of doing 1 month prepays like a lot of people want out there. Traffic quality and amount can fluctuate huge over a 30 day period.

True, a 5k-10K test run would cost you about 100$ max...

traffic brokers do not own the traffic, they broker.
So it's a constant search with testing, trying, blocking, boosting, reading stats/conversion and adapting to it all the time without any ending.

most bought traffic sucks anyway

best to go to successful site owners and buy from them who have a loyal following of productive traffic
