1. One dude who buys $200-300.00 worth of clips in a single transaction. 2. He buys throughout the day/week, and racks up same dollar amount. I always wonder why they just do not buy a membership for the $29.95 when it is advertised, but oh well. Whether it is a preference of delivery method, or it is dick in hand, not thinking clearly, more money for me. :) |

even if c4s does supply traffic
if your sending your own traffic chances are it tops the traffic/sales c4s is sending you hence the 40% lost is still at a loss, not to mention they take 40% on all the sales you send yourself |

60% extra money on content from your pay site you are already cashing in on. Another 60% on top of the DVD you are already selling. Extra loot on top of the content you are licensing. So in other words champ, "Don't leave money on the table". :2 cents: |

Does C4S send a lot of sales with their traffic to make up for that 40%? Setting up a store with them sounds great, basically free money like you said. But if you are sending any kind of volume to your own clip store, wouldn't it make you a load of more cash running your own processing? |
Bf do you have any content I can just have? I'll throw you a link or 10. I'm about to go dominate the tickling niche, hook a brother up.

Jim Gunn and Fungus (among others) run their own clip stores using PhantomFlixxx back end, and the token system. Why not ask them? Compare their stores to the Clips4Sale (or other clip stores). Myself personally from experience, short answer... 1. Clips4Sale has brand recognition and trust of surfers. 2. Clips4Sale buys a advertising, and traffic. 3. Clips4Sale has a solid niche clientele already in place. 4. Clips4Sale already has processing in place. |

More recently I did exactly what you said and started my own downloadable clip site on my own domain with processing at 4.9% and I send my own traffic to it. Of course, this isn't necessarily a perfect substitute for C4S, since there may be some people who prefer the C4S environment. How you set up your own store and tour and other factors may come into play. I actually think it pays to keep links to both C4S and your own stores. That way you get them either way if they are predisposed to buy anything at all. C4S has a minimum price based on clip length so it works out that my clip prices on C4S are higher anyway to make up for the 40% cut, and I offer short little sub-clips on C4S and Clips.com that I do not offer on my independent clip store which also make sales a few bucks at a time. |

1) You not only need a processor, but you need a server, bandwidth, script, backup solution - depending on the revenue of the store this percentage varies of course 2) People KNOW + TRUST sites likes C4S, YooGirls, Fetishvideos and others even if they do not know YOU => you'll see conversion 2-3x times better on this sites than sending to your own 3) You've nearly nothing to support, there are always people that don't know how to order/download/etc. - but that's not your problem as it's not your site - the site will handle this support - the only customers you've to deal with are the ones sending requests, etc. 4) Traffic for all kinds of (micro-)niches is usually there - try to get a good amount of high quality (micro-)niche traffic and you'll see how important that is for small stores So ... if that's all so fucking easy - why don't you start a competitive site? Could earn you huge money if it's easy done - right? |
