Lol @ $1m

she was interviewed at a local tv here she said the media hyped it up to be $1m it was less she said it was a "decent amount" she sounded though like one who wouldn't have more then $20k MAX

Loryn 06-10-2009 12:52 PM

I had a girlfriend, when I was around 23, who was a dancer and didn't want to put her money in the bank, so she kept it under her mattress. One day she noticed she had saved so much that it made her scared so she got a safety deposit box. She turned in $30k when she first opened the safety deposit box, and she had no plans on spending any of it. It was almost as if the money lost value to her and it became more about collecting paper than saving money. I wonder if she still has the box. Knowing strippers she probably met some guy, suit case pimp, and he spent it!!! haha

I was wondering about that, how she would accumulate that much:2 cents:

The mother seems to have a great attitude about life:

Quote:

nnat told Army Radio that when her mother realized her queen-sized bank had been tossed, she told her to "'leave it.'"

"'The heart is crying but you know we could have been in a car accident or had a terminal disease,'" Annat said her mother told her.

When I was a kid I used shoebox as my mini bank.

cherrylula 06-11-2009 06:57 AM

My uncle has a story about his grandfather hiding money in stacks of newspapers in his home as he got old, and when he died they threw it all in the garbage. I think it was another relative that alerted them of this when it was too late. :1orglaugh

voa 06-11-2009 07:00 AM

I would like to find that mattress

CDSmith 06-11-2009 07:13 AM

When I was in my late teens my grandfather died, and roughly 18 months later my grandmother passed away as well. My mom and her 11 brothers & sisters were all at the house after the funeral, and some of them decided to start going through their parent's bedoom. One of them was digging through the clothes closet and found a $50 bill in the pocket of one of my Grandfather's suites. At about the same time someone else found a roll of $100's in a drawer. They all looked at each other in surprise, then kept looking and, to everyone's amazement, it turned into a huge money hunt, each one finding money hidden everywhere.

No one had a clue it would be like that.

It was as if it was a final gift of fun given to the kids, and it really did work. I have no idea how much they had when it was all found but each of the 12 kids including my mom got a nice little chunk of money.

But damn... if that house had of burned down accidentally or something before that it would all have been for nothing.

I think I'll stick with my bank and investments.

Sounds like Mr. Craps on Spongebob.... This exact thing happened.

How could one not notice 1M stuffed in the mattress, it's not like it was $100 or something... 1M is a LOT... I bet ya there was only few thousand in there tops, and they just made up the million to make news out of it...

Kenny B! 06-11-2009 09:05 AM

Old people don't trust anyone and hide money everywhere, many put jewelry in the fridge and freezer in containers of half eaten food, nut cases.

Pornopat 06-11-2009 10:01 AM

Should have bought a new mattras with all that money herself.
How ironic!

jaycontentbandit 06-11-2009 10:04 AM

That is crazy

Yen_HerbalRevenue 06-11-2009 10:09 AM

My grandmother would always have $500 safety pinned on the inside of her shirt.

CurrentlySober 06-11-2009 10:59 AM

My grandmother kept her slippers in the fridge.
