I picked up a 68 Camaro... the restoration begins (pics)
I had a 68 when I was 17 and always wanted another one. Found this one local and picked it up. He started to restore it and ran out of money. Almost all the metal has been replaced. There is no rust on this car at all.

Nice. New body panels is a real nice start. Now you'll be on ebay everyday looking for all the parts, unless you go to year one with a flat bad and an amex black card and do it all in one shot :thumbsup
Nice start...endless possibilities.

Hey Ice how do you envision it? My friend just put his 67' in the shop to get finished. My neighbor had a 69' RS I used to stare at that car and always wanted one... now you got me jonesin for an ol'Camaro
for a 68 it appears to be missing the holes for the side marker lights on the rear quarters. Or are you going to make it look like a 67?
That looks one hell of a fun project. Should keep you busy for a while.
Sweet! Can't wait to see it when it's done.
sweeet :thumbsup
Very nice! I too had a 68' Camaro when I was 17 and it was my first car. I loved it! I wish i had kept it longer but I was a dumb kid that couldn't afford the car after a year working a fast food job while in High school.
That does look like a very nice start for a Camaro for sure. Take lots of pictures as you restore it and be sure to share with us cause I'd love to see how it comes together! :thumbsup |
There is lot of work there

Reminds me of the car in Better Off Dead (80's movie)
http://www.jasononcars.com/wp-conten.../picture-2.png When you're done restoring it, be sure to look for Asians who speak like Howard Cosell to race! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1Pg-p_7F5d...ead+racers.jpg |

Gunna be a fun project. I did one with a 64 1/2 Mustang and a 67 fastback, my favorite part was setting a budget....then justifying every purchase or part untill Id spent 10k more then I planned on each, lol. Once you start, you cant stop :)
Can't wait to see what you do with it!!!
Same year, same car I have always wanted. Very jealous. :)

Wow Ice, very nice find you got there :thumbsup.. Restoring an ols car, especially starting where you are now is very funny, getting rid of old metal and rust is the boring/hard part, now you just have the fun part left..
Good luck with it :) |
