Simple Math Eludes AIM

OK AIM has stated that everyone who worked with ?patient X? as they call her, since June 6 is quarantined for 2 14 week periods.

Patient X last tested on or around April 29, 2009

patient X could have been HIV positive but within the window period at that time

Meaning that first hand exposures have to go all the way back to the test BEFORE the April 29th test.

This is NOT being done.

Its a good thing that HIV is so hard to transmit, because if it weren?t porn would have been wiped out an awful long time ago.

Yes....you would think that a business that is built on the exchange of bodily fluids would be on top of this. Amazing stupidity to say the least.

Good point.. Especially since she got it somewhere in that period and no one knows who that original carrier might be.

2 + 2 = 5 no? Indeed the date of her last test were she tested negative should be the starting point for identifying who's going to get quarantined ...

xxxdesign-net 06-12-2009 11:18 PM

Btw it says here, http://www.xbiz.com/news/109218 , that the last negative test was on the 29th... and the last test was done on june 4th.. Did they change their story?

CyberHustler 06-12-2009 11:23 PM

:Oh crap

NaughtyRob 06-12-2009 11:33 PM

or do you mean that her last negative test was on may 29th and since tests are only effective 10-14(?) days after the infection, people she slept with after say may 15th should all be quarantined?

at least April 14th

Aim is a bunch of idiots its sad that these morons are the best our industry can do

This is all assuming that her last negative test was not a false negative. I've read many times that the PCR-DNA test can often give false reports.

In theory, she may have been HIV+ for longer than everyone thinks and the test just never caught it.

HIV... it's the new swine flu.

or is it the other way around?

seems like there should be some new standards set moving forward. A test when returning from a foreign country followed by no work until a second test can be performed. One thing is we are going to have to make some changes or there will certainly be regulation.

Do you honestly think some of the dirt bags who travel abroad to shoot porn is going to report in that they have been abroad? No way.

Furthermore, what about if a performer just takes a personal vacation out of the country? Test them too? What about if they go on a date with someone not in the industry? Test?

The system is flawed. That's the problem. NOBODY will be 100% truthful with anything. For example, do you think a male porn stud who secretly loves cock and is bi-sexual, is gong to spill the beans on himself, tell everyone he takes it in the ass and then lose work over it? Not a chance. He will suck dick and get railed up the ass, maybe even by total strangers from a glory hole in some peep show, and not tell a soul about it, but he will show up to work the next day with a clean bill of health from AIM.

This is the risk everyone takes. Any test is better than none, and having AIM is better than not having AIM, but it's time for personal responsibility here and either use condoms or know that you may end up with HIV, Hep or any other STI, having no one to blame but yourself.
