I don't think I've used IE for actual surfing in more than 4 years.

And your sure that was FF.
And even then, your sure IE wont do that.

For all i know FF is much more secure then IE, but hey that might be just me thinking that.

There are ways to save your bookmarks, you know? Takes about 30 seconds. That's the craziest reason I have ever heard for using IE.

Iron Fist 06-14-2009 07:37 PM

Last time I used IE was the last time my system got infected with a virus from a porn site. Since FireFox with NoScript.. never had a problem since they all need JavaScript to run their installers.

Use the Google toolbar and store your bookmarks at Google, then you can download them ANYWHERE you have an internet connection and the Google Toolbar. Today, I could care less if my entire system gets wiped out, re-install windows and i'm back in business... seriously. :2 cents:

Eva PSC 06-14-2009 07:50 PM

firefox is the best thing. I use IE only when needed to test how sites show up in that browser

Doctor Feelgood 06-15-2009 12:16 PM

I back up my FF bookmarks every 2 weeks in its own folder and I name the backup files according to the date I backed them up on. I've never had the problem you had, but if it does I will no lose anything. It take a couple seconds to back up so why not do it?

what folder is mine in?

captain.g 06-17-2009 08:33 PM

in vista the folder is C:\Users\"Your_Account"\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Fi refox\Profiles\"YOUR PROFILE".default\bookmarkbackups
just replace "Your_Account" with you windows user account. and "YOUR PROFILE" is some random string of letters
XP same but Documents and Settings\"Your User Account"\

theres no "AppData" folder.

captain.g 06-17-2009 08:49 PM

in XP the full path is E:\Documents and Settings\"YOUR WINDOWS ACCOUNT\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\"YOUR FF PROFILE".default\bookmarkbackups

Try that

This can be fixed by holding a very strong and big magnet on the side of your tower.
