website value

what is a good free site or tool, that will accurately, or most accurately, value an established website

I really don't use these "tools". "Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it" :thumbsup

There is no easy answer to that question. Quick answer is 6-12 months of income, but there are many other variables that you should take into consideration.

I wouldn't rely on any of those so called valuation sites like http://www.websiteoutlook.com/ at all, you need a professional to go over the figures to establish any kind of accurate figure whatsoever - and then you might have someone who absolutely loves the domain and is willing to pay 3 times that!

Those types of tools are a waste of time. They just estimate based on domain length, age, traffic etc. As the man says, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I paid about $2000 for http://www.lukey.com not because it was worth that, but because I wanted it bad.

sex.com is valued at $60,590 USD according to that site....obv missed a few zeros off there...

Those tools are rubbish 100%, you need a human to do the evaluation.

Its all about open business when you are trying to sell a site. Just give the potential buyers a Google analytics report, let them check the domain length at Whois.com and tell them honestly the revenue that the website has made. Than see what they offer..

An established website is like a used car, meaning every single one of them is different.

A site is only worth 2 things:

1- What you can make off of it while owning it.

2- What someone else will give you for ownership.
