best utility to batch join a bunch of video clips together?

what is the best/easiest/free way to batch join a whole bunch of short video clips together into one long clip?

I have a folder full of a bunch of 30 second clips from my digital camera and I want to be able to drop the whole folder into a program and come out with an auto joined big video file with all of the clips in order..... is it easily possible?

Windows movie maker can do it on the PC, it just takes a while.

these are just personal videos on my pc, not uploading to any linux server

windows movie maker can do it? automatically? or do I have to go through the hassle of dragging and dropping 100 videos?

thanks for the advice btw

You have to drag each vid.

Use this then

http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/index.html

BUT!!!! All the vids must be compatible and mpeg or avi

Click "file/mpeg tools/merge cut".

Could always resort to ye olde DOS copy command in a pinch.

copy /b clip1.mpg+clip2.mpg+clip3.mpg allclips.mpg

Works, but no "undo" so be careful.

Video Charge still rules the roost.
