What do you guys make of all the hubbub lately in Wordpress world about anything being developed (plugins, themes, etc) being required to inherit the GPL license?

Lots of folks having to revise their business plans as a result.

GPL is easy to follow as long as you keep the wordpress code open.

But it also allows for someone to buy your program and if they choose to do so, redistribute it either with a fee or free of charge.

We're putting together a theme framework and because of this are probably going the free to download, paid support route. It seems like the best bet for a Wordpress business model these days.

Okay, I stand corrected. There won't be any demo. But our Integration Team is willing to show you guys how it's done.

Billing integration is custom work for each client depending on their biller.

Client gives billing info - login to Netbilling or CCbill, etc.

Our team goes in and edits the login file on the top right the php file or if the client does not want it we make a members login link.

We contact with biller to get .htaccess method working with /members/ folder.

We then test the password system and hand over to client

This is the method. It's not automatic in any way. Similarly, AdultsiteCMS does NOT control or manipulate membership in ANY way.

This added service is a simple way clients can use AdultSiteCMS seamlessly. We make sure that the billing works with the biller they choose to use.

AdultSiteCMS is still using 2.7.1. Since the new version 2.8 has bugs in it, we are actually waiting for the guys at Wordpress to fix them. When that's all been taken care of, we will immediately embrace that new version.
