I Can't Stay Awake During Movies

Ever since I got pregnant with my first child in 2003, I haven't been able to stay awake for movies at home or even in the theater. In those five years, it hasn't changed. No matter how bad I want to see the movie, I fall asleep.

Well, happened again Saturday night. Spent $30 to see Harry Potter and slept through most of it.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I am not a good movie watcher. I have a hard time sitting through a movie.

Haha I am going to show this to my wife. She gets so pissed at me especially when I start snoring! LOL

Let's start a support group. 'Hello my name is Michael...'

I had to stop going to theaters. Put me in a dark room and I am going to sleep.

Your body is telling you that it needs rest

It happens to me at home a lot, mostly if I start the movie too late (after 9:30). I've never fallen asleep in a theater tho, I can't sleep in public or while moving.

Tips to stay awake at home - sit upright, once you lay on the couch you're toast. Take frequent breaks - get up to get a drink, snack, use the bathroom, anything.

Must have been a boring movie, that's why. Nice cigar, kristin.

tisk tisk you're not listening to your body :winkwink:

Awhile back I had the same problem as I was stressed and not getting enough sleep. I'd pop in a movie and lay down to watch it and I was asleep in minutes. I could eat a big meal and fall asleep sitting in my chair. I was able to eliminate the stress, changed my sleeping habits and now I can lay down and watch a movie at any hour without falling asleep. My body is getting enough rest and doesn't feel the need to shut down every time I stop moving.

HomerSimpson 07-20-2009 11:34 AM

you work too much and when you relax - you fall asleep...

Martin 07-20-2009 11:40 AM

Funny, I know a few other women like that. A few times when Id be watching a movie with a girl they would fall asleep.. lol..

JFK 07-20-2009 11:40 AM

I happens to me from time to time, at home only , I guess I think I can watch it again and again on demand:winkwink:
