Are more women OK with watching porn? <article>
http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/perso...orn/index.html :thumbsup
Personally, I like my pizza deliveryman to do one thing: bring me my dinner. But mention this guy to a group of women, and, while most of us will think of cheesy pies with tomato sauce, a good number of us will conjure up that hilariously bad porn cliché, the randy fellow who's always ready to accept sex in exchange for a medium sausage and mushroom. Some pornographers are marketing to women. Notwithstanding how lame the cliché is, or how simply bad most porn is (and after ten years as a professional reviewer of the stuff, I can report that much of it is very bad), the fact is, millions of women use and enjoy "explicit sexual imagery." What's perhaps more surprising, given the latest scientific research, is that more of us don't. In the first three months of 2007, according to Nielsen/NetRatings, approximately one in three visitors to adult entertainment Web sites was female; during the same period, nearly 13 million American women were checking out porn online at least once each month. Theresa Flynt, vice president of marketing for Hustler video, says that women account for 56 percent of business at her company's video stores. "And the female audience is increasing," she adds. "Women are buying more porn." (They're creating more of it, too: Female director Candida Royalle's hard-core erotic videos, made expressly for women viewers, sell at the rate of approximately 10,000 copies a month.) read the rest on the link |

urban myth. but some women are into porn.

I met this drunk chick at a Motley Crue concert. She was sitting right next to me, and the first thing she asks me is who my favorite pornstar is. So I say fuck it, why be shy, it's Jenna Haze! She snaps right back with Belladonna and gets into this big speech about what a freak she is, and how she'd love to get fisted by Belladonna. She went off on all the porn she was into and it was a hilarious drunk conversation. Her boyfriend was right on the other side of her and just eyeballed me the whole time with this silent hate stare. It was one of the funniest conversations I've ever had with a drunk chick. That girl knew her smut, and obviously fucking loved some hardcore porn... :1orglaugh

I'm sure because of tube sites, many younger women will start to dabble in watching porn and some will find they enjoy it.
Many women would never buy porn at the store or even buy a membership, but they will probably check out a free video. A certain percentage will enjoy it who otherwise would have never been exposed to it. People always say women are growing a segment but I believe it is actually true this time. I doubt they will be buyers in any great numbers for the most part, but they will watch more. |
Maybe we should start to promote lipstick or something similar on our porn sites:) On the other hand, girls are crazy for shopping and maybe there is way to present getting the membership like some kind of shopping:)

This doesn't surprise me all that much. Here's something most people don't know: Women ogle over men more than men ogle over women.
Here's how it works: Women have very good peripheral vision. They can see a lot more with their eyes without noticeable eye movement. When a guy ogles a woman he can't help but look up and down and left to right. This is very noticable to women. Yet, women complain about our ogling, but they do it more than we do. |
Yeah. I saw that CNN article. From what I've seen, I think more women are ok with watching porn than before. But a lot more men watch porn than women.

What about lesbian niche?
