Only one guy who knows how to market a solo girl site? I know quite a few guys who have made some nice coin doing just that. But maybe it's like Highlander and there "Can be only one"

But now that I think about it...the guy who did the very best and made the most and dwarfed EVERYBODY was probably the guy behind the Tila Tequila internet phenomenon

My guess... Jenna Jameson. She built her site and brand and then cashed out. She probably made more than 95% of the single models combined.

haha - they are the complete opposite. i've never seen an opportunity blown like that, if TeenRevenue or Lightspeed had that guy's content they'd have made millions.

My guess is Phil.... but there are quite a few that do very well and I'm not one to judge brilliance in marketing.

anyway, what made me post this thread was a vague reference in another thread i just saw plus was on another program site the other day where the term 'marketing genius' was used.

the answer is....................... Mayor from Mayor's Money. Why is he the one marketing genius in my opinion? Because he took a model who was nothing more than average and made a star out of her. Brooke Skye, I was sent that girl by an agent a few days before Mayor signed her - she was just a typical porn content girl, nothing about her said 'solo girl site star' to me. I sent her pics out to my mailing list of exclusive content buyers and I don't think I got one response to go ahead and shoot her.

All the other solo girl site stars - you can see they were stars or had a good chance to become one.

I love Mike, but I'll disagree here. He is more of a traffic genius than marketing. The same could be said for Tawnee, she is just an average looking girl.

As I was Major part of MayorsMoney from the beginning I think we were good at traffic and creating very powerful tours and tools, but I would say Steve is a better Solosite genius.

I don't think I'd place Brooke Skye or Mayor's Money above anything Jenna Jameson or Club Jenna accomplished, though. I mean, he took an average girl and made some perverts pay attention to her. Congratulations...

Jenna, on the other hand, is like 1 of 2 adult models to actually "cross-over" into mainstream. Not to mention the boat load of money she's made by building her brand.

Plus, if you want to label him a "marketing genius", then go ask 100 people walking around any city if they know either of these two names - Jenna Jameson or Brooke Skye. I'd be willing to bet more come back knowing Jenna... to me, that's real marketing.

Not trying to be a douchebag... it's your opinion and I can respect that. I just think because some dude made a successful website off of one of your girls, it fails in comparison...

When I thin of "solo girls" as in I see them EVERYWHERE, I think of Lightspeed and Teen Revenue. I see their girls everywhere, more than anymore else, and I don't even seek out that style of content.

They have bootlegged DVDs in Thailand and China with Lightspeed and Teen Revenue girls on them. I can't say that about any others.

BUT on the other hand.................. I posted the first photos of the model who would become Ariel Rebel on GFY. My friend Candido had shot her and wanted me to find a deal for her hopefully. Mayor was in the process of starting MayorsMoney and was all over me for the girl, I thought we had a deal done for Candido and Ariel but then the next day he hit me up and said 'let's do a test, let's shoot 30 sets and then my crew and I will review'.
So I went to Candido and he felt the same way as I did, either sign the girl or don't, for all we know he could have taken the 30 sets and done a pre-fab PerfectionJeff type site with them. So Mayor walked away from Ariel and she went to Panchodog.

I wouldn't use the word "genius" for myself at all. I was driven, I started at the right time, I had a few good mentors, and honestly, I got lucky.

I would say the credit to starting the sologirl niche has to go to MikeAI.

I filmed Brooke Skye in two lesbian scenes here in South Florida the week before she signed with Mayor's Money. She was sexy but nothing extra-special. Another skinny teenage brunette with a belly ring, exactly the kind of new girl that I film literally every week. The reality is that in hindsight, anyone can be labeled a genius after they have some success. Same for Tawnee or Jenna or any of the other popular girls. There are a hundred girls that could have been them, and any of them could easily have gone into obscurity just like the thousands of other porn "star" content girls that I film all the time.

I don't think anyone will ever have the same success that some of you had. And that applies to any niche. Unless one of you genius can crack the Chinese nut somewhere down the line.

I think there's time and place for many different sites/programs and though I agree its not the time to launch a sologirl in this market, I can think of a few other concepts that could do very well...:thumbsup

If you had to choose, would you say that starting a single model site is a better gamble today than a typical general niche porn site? I would think that you'd have a better shot at making a run with a single model site if the girl was willing to put in the work... because that business concept can offer the consumer things that tubes can't... like companionship in the form of email/message board contact.

Jerking off to videos and pictures is all well and good, but if you have a girl that answers her emails, goes on live cam, posts on her forum, writes in a blog, really extends herself... I would think the odds are better at getting that initial sale and rebill.

MikeAI from AmateurIndex started the whole niche that is now called 'solo girl' - and I don't include the true amateur girls who do their own sites as part of that, they are 'amateurs'. Mike doesn't consider himself a genius so I won't say he is either. But anybody in solo girl niche should know that we all still use his blueprint. He was the first.


hmm - the SouthernCharms guy, i've heard he is like one of the richest guys ever in this business and still going. But his sites are true amateur - different ballgame.

Mayor could have had any type of site and rocked it. They were marketing genius'.
