8 Year Non-Smoking Anniversary

I glanced up at the calendar, and saw that today marks a milestone for me.

Yay me!!!

Stats from QuitNet.org

My Stats:
Your Quit Date is: 8/13/2001
Time Smoke-Free: 2922 days, 7 hours, 52 minutes and 23 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 102281
Lifetime Saved: 26 months, 1 day, 7 hours
Money Saved: $16,618.88

The money saved is based on price per pack of my brand when I quit, which would be substantially higher if the price increases were factored in. I was behind some woman at CVS the other day at checkout. She bought 2 packs of mid-range smokes...not Marlboro, but not the generic...it cost her nearly $9.

I smoked from the age of 12 or 13 until the age of 43. No drugs, no patches. You can do it!

Everyone wanting to quit should make sure they keep record of stats like these. The money saved alone would probably encourage most people to be honest.

Well done, and keep it up !!! :thumbsup

if you add up the amount average guy spends on cigarettes, alcohol, and redbull its a housepayment.

Redbulls: Easily $300/mo
Cigs: Easily $300/mo 2 packs a day
Alcohol: $200/week easily just couple days at bar per week = $800/mo
--------------------------------------------------------------------

$1,400/mo

and people ask me why I dont do any of the above anymore LOL

And with alcohol you have to figure in the amount of money you lose while hungover... I gave it all up.

Deej 08-13-2009 10:57 AM

That is so fuckin awesome, I wish more people would follow you...
