See I don't want to hear anymore rich people bitch about how they pay more in taxes when they clearly do eveything they can to avoid paying ANY.

Mr. Billy 08-16-2009 10:07 PM

It is a good move.

Mr Pheer 08-16-2009 10:13 PM

This will only affect the idiots that werent smart enough to take a few additional steps to truly hide their assets. Just having an offshore bank account is not enough.

Might be okay if you are in a country that won't extradite or you never plan on visiting the US again.

Did you mean "renounce" your citizenship?

In order to do that, you need to become a citizen of another country first. And, you must first pay the IRS 100% of what you owe, and hope that they dont decide to tax you on your future income earning potential as well. If you have a high income, you can be assessed for the next 10 years after you renounce your citizenship and still owe tax on it to the IRS.

Yes, they do that.

Smokieflame 08-17-2009 01:09 AM

all i have to say is good. people who hide there wealth make me mad, I did not grow up rich nor did my husband and we have to pay taxes. If i have to so should every one else! We are a broke country at the moment too, we could really use the money. Not like our government will spend it right tho, they will probably send some more bank executives on another vacation on.

hypedough 08-17-2009 01:22 AM

LOLs didn't see that one coming.

digifan 08-17-2009 03:07 AM

He's right, it's like slavery. The government owns you and you cannot buy your freedom, you need to keep working for them.

Mr. Cool Ice 08-17-2009 07:22 AM

Only idiots pay taxes.

Only idiots don't do their due diligence and go the extra step to protect their assets when trying to scam the IRS.

People who are wealthy AND smart, have nothing to worry about. But you gotta have both, one does not work without the other.

Or, you were never dumb enough to put ANYTHING in your own name and have nothing to worry about.

Nobody can take what you don't own. :2 cents:
