Remember the movie 'The Dead Zone'? [PICS]

For those who remember the 1983 movie "The Dead Zone" (Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, Tom Skerritt) - a few pics of the park gazebo where the rape/murder scenes were shot.

The gazebo was built as a prop for the movie - and left behind as a gift to the town. Recently it was fully restored and is often used for wedding photography.

Shot earlier today in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Visible in the second pic across the river is Fort Niagara (Niagara Falls, NY) - which played a significant role in the War of 1812.

My sister in law got married there. Right across the street is a really nice restaurant too.

I'm actually going to pick this movie up. I find that just about anything by Stephen King is awesome.

LoveSandra 08-17-2009 04:53 AM

looks funny

The Dixie Boy truck stop from Maximum Overdrive would have been cool to see. If I heard it right, they built it from the ground up for the movie and then it existed as it's own truck stop for several years before it eventually went under. I heard they tore it down :(

Kool photos.

Wow. That would have been amazing! If I remember right it was shot in North Carolina. I would have definitely went and seen it.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 08-17-2009 11:30 AM

nice looking gazebo

bronco67 08-17-2009 05:15 PM

Pretty ironic, when you think about its original use, and its present day usage.

Yeah, really.

"C'mon honey...let's get married by the gazebo where they filmed the rape and murder scene from that movie."
