sigh, knowing the adult market and many other things doesn't help when...

I don't know a thing about plumbing and have to figure out how to fix a tankless 'aquastar fx240' electric water heater or something like that. LOL.

2 hours of surfing the net and calling to find a company who fixes it, I realize there are so many things I can't do. Yep, can't even change a light bulb (but it's also a 15ft ceiling ;) - though I did change fuses in my car on my own.

should be interesting when the repair man comes out, realizes I have no idea about the thing and then proceeds to charge me a nice hefty rate to flip a switch or the like. (but that's probably when The Adult Broker deal maker will come out in me.)

sigh...sometimes a woman just needs a good handy man around ;) yep I used those words on purpose. :thumbsup

Just tell the repair man that you've been quoted already and to give you his best price.

You're smart, personable and pretty!

That will carry you further in life (especially in adult) than being able to fix a tankless water heater.

Is this thread going to deliver a picture of Lori with a wrench and plumbers crack?

And hey, since you're in adult, I'm sure you've thought about how to monetize this whole thing...

Fuck a Fan, Plumber Edition

Get a hot porn star over, have her call the plumber, get a shooter there, get paid.

Good luck fixing it!

1. Heating elements are crusted with crap and burnt out.

2. Heating elements are crusted with crap and are tripping circuit breaker.

Solution - toss it out and buy a nice gas heater. You'll be happier.

When I read "tankless electric water heater" I first thought, if that shit exists, it must cost a fortune to run.... the inefficient way electricty heaters heat water that is...

so to see what it looked like, a google on aquastar fx240 turned up as first page

  • Takes countless gallons of water to get to a stable temperature.
  • Water temp drops to cold or becomes scalding hot, whenever there is a fluctuation in the water pressure.
  • These units get a buildup of lime or calcium on the burners, that cause it to be noisy, rattle, and to trip the overtemp circuit breaker.
  • There is no literature mentioning the need to purchase an electric pump and hoses to flush the unit monthly with white vinegar, but that is what the factory tells me I need to do.
  • In 5 years we have had our unit factory replaced twice, and the latest unit is now being replaced with a conventional tank model.

Get rid of it, and get a boiler with tank - gas is easy choice, and one with a cast iron burner will last many decades, but those new ones that take those wood pellets that look like rabbit droppings are frikking amazing in fuel usage cost, and ecological. Or just get a couple of solar panels on the roof for the hot water.

95% of plumbers will come, but when there's the slightest problem with a boiler will breath air in between their teeth and tell you you need to replace it, cos basically they can't be arsed dealing with dodgy, old boilers.

Coders, when asked to come and fix some bit of legacy code are much the same :winkwink:
