Can you rent a car in Rome, and drop it off in Berlin
Does anyone know if they do 1 way rentals like that ?
|
Some companies do, althought the dropoff fee is pretty high, so i would recommend to check that first.

At airport rental places, more than likely. However as stated , check the drop off fees, also make sure they check the vehicle in front of you and sign off when you return it. So you dont get fucked for phantom charges:2 cents:

Sixt does it, but the charges are crazy, i once rented a car in Germany, drove to Austria and payed +200 Euro for the transportation back, guess from Italy to Germany it'd be way more than that...

Last year we rented in Rome, dropped off in Venice - going through Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria (and then back down into Italy). I believe we used Alamo for that one.
This year (right now actually, typing from Arles, France :upsidedow), we rented in Venice (Hertz) and are dropping the car off in Madrid, Spain two weeks later. Sometimes it's harder to find, but usually there's at least one of the rental companies that will do it... always from the airport for us. HTH |
Sure you can rent a car in Rome and drop it off in Berlin, so long as you can get through customs, although I'm not so sure about the legal ramifications. :winkwink:
Sounds like the makings of a great video - include scenes of the Vatican and the former Berlin Wall, and you have solid gold... :thumbsup ADG |

On topic - yes, you can definitely do that. But you're better off googling a car rental company and calling them up. Those at airports are usually dirt expensive. The smaller companies are more likely to make you a deal. |
