This is why I LOVE ISPrime Hosting.

[20:45] AaronM: Helllo.

EMAIL ADDRESS EDITED

Thousands of my emails have vanished over the last 2 hours.
[20:46] NOC: Hello
[20:46] AaronM: Hi. Any idea what happened to my inbox emails?
[20:46] NOC: do you have a ticket open for this issue?
[20:46] AaronM: And can they be recovered?
[20:46] AaronM: Not yet. Just noticed it.
[20:46] NOC: I would recommend resetting your password
[20:47] NOC: unless you have backups they cannot be recovered
[20:47] NOC: what server is this on?
[20:47] AaronM: Ticket submitted
[20:48] AaronM: SERVER NAME EDITED
[20:48] AaronM: As far as I know, there is a backup on that server.
[20:49] NOC: This is a virtual server, I'll have to look into that
[20:49] AaronM: Yes, I know.
[20:50] AaronM: We had a minor issue on another server awhile back and I was told that all my stuff had back ups now.
[20:50] NOC: how do you access your email on this server?
[20:50] AaronM: browser based
[20:51] NOC: what is the password?
[20:51] AaronM: PASSWORD EDITED
[20:51] NOC: I would advise you reset the password
[20:52] AaronM: Has it been accessed another way?
[20:52] NOC: We are looking into it
[20:52] AaronM: And should I submit another ticket for the pass or can you assist?
[20:52] NOC: We can reset it
[20:52] AaronM: NEW PASSWORD EDITED please
[20:53] AaronM: Are you able to tell if it was access by other means?
[20:53] NOC: it will have to be a randomly generated password
[20:53] AaronM: Why?
[20:54] NOC: we are looking into the issue and will let you know. It is more secure to have a randomly generated password.
[20:56] AaronM: I've never had a password issue before. Random passwords mean more support tickets when I can't remember WTF the password is.
[20:56] NOC: we seem to have a backup of it.
[20:56] AaronM: outstanding. :)
[20:57] NOC: If you give us a more secure password we can use that
[20:57] AaronM: ok
[20:57] AaronM: one moment please.
[20:58] AaronM: NEW NEW PASSWORD EDITED
[20:58] NOC: excellent
[20:59] NOC: I just reset it for you, checking the backup now
[21:03] NOC: it should be restored now
[21:04] AaronM: Checking
[21:04] AaronM: You rock.

Thank you.

19 minutes from initial contact to recovery of a lot of very important emails. Still not sure how they vanished but to have them back that fast makes me very happy. :)

isprime is the top of the pyramid.

C4W 09-10-2009 10:20 PM

Isprime is the best no doubt....

KillerK 09-10-2009 10:37 PM

isprime is overrated and charges way too much money.

Isprime is not the only host where you don't have to worry about stuff...Killer is right, its overpriced for these days, when BW is super cheap everywhere.

I should have also said, I've never read or heard anything bad about you.

The prices honestly are not worth it. There are plenty of places for half the cost that provide acceptable uptime and support.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I've hosted with about 10 of the top hosts here.
RealityCheck, Mojo, NationalNet, Jupiter, PhatServers, Cyberwurx, etc.

The first two in the list were very good. I find realitycheck exceptional.

The difference is, in my opinion, is that ISPrime are proactive. That is to say, they are actively involved in the creation and upkeep of your boxes. Every change made is made while keeping the goal of stability and flexibility in mind. I've not come across other hosts who actually will sit down and talk cluster structure, upscaling, etc with you. Most just throw an extra box online and let you sort out the details.

If you've never had more than 30 boxes with a host at one time, CDNd + load balanced with over 10 terrabytes of content, pushing an insane amount of data, then that's probably the reason you don't get their prices or their edge.

ISP aren't here to fuck around. You might be surprised who hosts with them :)

justsexxx 09-11-2009 01:48 AM

I agree Isprime rocks. They are really amazing, and pro active. I did have some old version of mambo on my server which I didn't use. Somehow they found out, and I got an email+ICQ so pls upgrade it because it was unsafe...

I had it deleted, because I didn't use it anyway.

Fact is, they are pro active, are NOT overpriced(they are cheaper than the prices on the website) and they are here for a LONG time already, and proabbly will stay here for a long time.

I believed even Akamai is using isprime BW for some locations btw

lvs + cdn with lvs with no lag, all box purpose setup ... with huge md8000 clusters and more.

only time we've reported something to isprime that they weren't already fixing is when we ask them to change something :)

I also have to agree with this statement. I agree isprime is known to be a decent host but there are several other hosts that are as good if not better and have Much better pricing. I agree that going with the el cheapo hosts is not a good idea as that biz model has failed time and time again, however paying too much is also not good, there is a happy medium here and several hosts fall into that category.:2 cents::2 cents:

ISPrime are hands down the best host I have ever been with. Alex and the guys cannot do enough for you when it comes to getting help. The company I'm with now (won't mention names as I don't want to shit on Aarons nice thread) is awesome too, but nothing can or will beat ISPrime.

okny 09-11-2009 03:59 AM

Well for one i dont work for Isprime, but they are friends of mine outside the industry put that aside for a minute i think there whole company is solid there is no one weak link in the company and that's why you get what you pay for.

Also for reality check i mean what could i say Ben is the hosting wizard also a solid company which i highly recommend.

P.S. you will get it how it is from me if your good your good and if you suck well i aint a hater so i will keep my mouth shut :winkwink:

I will vouch for that. Indeed, ISPrime is proactive in support. I got an email from them telling me that one of my Zen-Cart templates had a vulnerability. They even went so far as to tell me which module in the template had the issue.

If your web business is mission critical then you want to trust it to ISPrime.
