HunkMoney has announced its implementation of the WebsiteSecure.org certification program for its network of premium gay adult membership sites.

Currently hundreds of sites are using the service in both mainstream and adult. The seal icons are getting better than 50 million impressions each month and are some of the best known brands in adult already.

WebsiteSecure.org does offer a 'word of mouth' referral payout to a few specific people who send high quality clients with ethical websites. WebsiteSecure.org is a REAL service with real standards, so 'bulk referrals' from a banner farm would not be helpful.

Some companies have been using products like Verisign or McAfeeSecure. Those do a great job scanning sites for viruses and providing SSL encryption but they do very little to protect the consumer from a dishonest site owner (that is not their intended purpose). In fact you may find those logos on sites that have hidden xsells and other tricks designed to screw the surfer because while the site is properly encrypted or properly virus protected the owner is running some kind of scam.

To my knowledge WebsiteSecure.org is the first and only service actively doing test joins and cancels, reading terms of service pages word for word and taking other measures to do all that is possible to be sure consumers are being charged only what they believe they will be charged at the point of sale.

Having owned and operated paysite review sites and reviewed more than 3,500 adult sites, owned and operated WebmasterScore and reviewed more than 250 affiliate programs... WebsiteSecure.org is a very big project and requires a lot of work but it is also a logical extension of what I have been doing for years. Well, I absolutely do know of such programs, and you already snagged the one I'd of been recommending right off the bat! But word of mouth hasn't proved profitable to me in the past, where as a hard link seems to at least ensure I get credit.

ps: I run webmaster resource sites, and I post a lot of recommendations to GWW where I moderate, and a link would be much easier for me to work with.

however, that little traffic leak seems somewhat concerning..

It is actually not a traffic leak for several reasons.

1) WebsiteSecure.org does not use link codes of any kind and does not interfere with cookies in any way. So if an affiliate sends traffic to a site and the user checks the certificate (or even if they verify the certificate on websitesecure.org) when they return to buy the site the original affiliate still gets full credit for the sale.

2) Most traffic sees the seal on the join page and signs up or does not. A small fraction of users click the seal to see the certificate (which does not cause them to leave the join page in any way. Doing so does not interfere with affiliate credit for sales in any way.

In reality, the increase in ratios that WebsiteSecure.org brings to a join page will result in more sales for affiliate traffic (all credited correctly to the affiliate), less concern that your traffic and bookmarkers are being burned by a particular paysite, and the chance of losing even ONE sale because of websitesecure.org is pretty much zero.
