has anyone had problems with logitech cordless keyboard/mouse combos?

I picked up a logitech keyboard mouse combo a while ago. I installed the setpoint software that came with it. Everything worked no problem...until it wanted to install an update for the software. Ok. sure. Once I do that, it no longer works and gives me an error saying setpoint.ext can not find entry point. So whatever, none of the keyboard features work anymore and eventually i want uninstall the program so I can reinstall it. Wellll, i uninstalled but when i try to reinstall it says there is a newer version already on the computer which is impossible becaus i deleted the logitech folder after the uninstall. Has anyone else had problems with this setpoint program?

I tried using it once - but after so much usage I was changing batteries too often as everything start skipping or slowing down.

the mouse drains the battery like a mofo

I have the Logitech Cordless Laser Comfort. An ergonomic cordless keyboard and a cordless laser mouse. They work great on Leopard and Vista. I use the Logitech Trackman Optical a lot too and it works great also. Batteries last awhile on all three of these.

I am not sure if this will help or not, but I got this from the Logitech forums:

I ran into this same problem when I upgraded from setpoint 2.40 to 3.10. I solved it by renaming/removing 4 DLL's in c:\program files\logitech\setpoint\, which also exist in c:\windows\system32\. Just rename or delete kemutb.dll, KemUtil.dll, KemWnd.dll and KemXML.dll in your c:\program files\logitech\setpoint\ directory and it should work like it's supposed to.

I don't install that stupid software to begin with, its unneeded.

Had some minor problems detecting the mouse, but after few mins fiddling with the "connect" button, it started to work... but other than that, logitech makes good stuff :thumbsup

I wish i would of found that before uninstalling. Oh well, I guess I don't really need the software. I just can't customize the mouse buttons.

No, I didn't have problems...

HomerSimpson 10-05-2009 12:53 PM

I use it...
have no problems...
haven't even installed that software since I don't use most of those extra buttons...
