Dont Watch: The Invention of Lying

http://www.iwatchstuff.com/2009/07/1...lying-quad.jpg

What a long and shitty movie. :2 cents:

:warning SPOILER :warning

I cant believe when his mother was dying he didnt save her..
how? he could have simply told her she cant die today since he knows she will live to be 106 or something...then she would have felt awesome since nobody tells a lie and her body would have healed itself through the power of positive thinking..ugh

in other movie news, the new trailer park boys movie was awesome, go see it :thumbsup

im guessing there are no comments because nobodys seen this peice of crap movie...lol

I can not believe you actually went and saw it after seeing the commercials. I mean typically those are supposed to be some of the best bits and all, even those sucked dickcheese.

Please tell me there was a hot chick involved in you seeing this and it was not so bad that you also got no action?

I really like what Ricky Gervais did with The Office, Extra's and to a lesser degree, Ghost Town... I was going to see his new movie this weekend but read a review of it that marked it an absolutle waste of time. mildy entertaining for 30 minutes then boredom city after that.

Apparantly Gervais co wrote and co directed it..

Stephen McTowelie 10-05-2009 04:10 AM

Ah no surprise then hasn't every Gervais film so far sucked pretty much ?
Damn how do funny English people goto the states and make the crappiest films its just all about the $$ isnt it :(.

I cant think of a UK Actor/Comedian who has made a funny film in Hollywood.
Bout all i can think of is steve coogan in tropic thunder and he wasnt even in that much or much good :Oh crap

Sarah_Jayne 10-05-2009 04:12 AM

I haven't heard one good review..even from the Gervais fans I know.

I thought his last one wasn't too bad.

BlackCrayon 10-05-2009 04:34 AM

I think its a pretty stupid premise. Like there could be a world where no one thought of lying before.

bronco67 10-05-2009 06:51 AM

How could the world be where it is -- as it appears in the movie -- without lying? Nothing gets done without lying.

His friend says to him "I never liked you". Wouldn't he know that already, if there was no lying?

Just sayin....

CaptainHowdy 10-05-2009 06:54 AM

Torch Ricky Gervais...

Well, there goes all science fiction. We can only make movies about things as they are for real.

I guess there's a fine line between fiction and logic.

HORRIBLE MOVIE

Saw it yesterday with Aaliyah

I want my 2 hours and 8 dollars back!

Tom_PM 10-05-2009 08:32 AM

Rather than ever going to see a movie, I watch interview shows from the stars on tour to plug the movies. It's the new black.

Erm dont quite a lot of movies count on the suspension of disbelief ? But yeah pretty much all sci-fi is out the question if thats how u think.
Its not the idea for this movie that makes it crap is it.

my friend told me before i bought my tickets that it was a 60% rating from rotten tomatoes...

i always thought for movies to be bad they had to get 12% on RT...so 60% would be worth seeing ... my mistake

fatfoo 10-05-2009 01:45 PM

He didn't save his mother from dying? Oh, yeah? Sounds boring.

96ukssob 10-05-2009 01:55 PM

this movie looks retarded, dont know why you would go and see it.

im not looking forward to the flight ill be on when they show this movie

czarina 10-05-2009 02:02 PM
