Need A New Hoster " Tired Of The Planet

I'm looking for a new host. I'm completely tired of being raped to death by the planet. Tired of being charged $75 per hour for support to fix shit they should have fixed right the first time. They are so incompetent their admins couldn't even make some apache changes that should have take 1/2 hour. Now we are going on three hours and my shit still isn't fixed.

The other night I put a request to shut down my old server, I gave them the IP (i recently moved to a better server with them). So what happened at the datacenter, the idiot didn't even bother to read the ticket and shut down my new server. It was pure luck that I got back online to check email that I caught it two hours later.

These fucksticks even talked me into getting a new server, fucked my old one up..and charged me for a next months service on the old one, because I didn't cancel within 48 hours of notice of the next billing cycle...even though they had shut my server off and I had to get it back on to transfer my websites.

I've been with them for about 5 years and they treat thier customers like complete shit. I'm ready for a new host who will help manage and take care of me and my business.

I had similar probs with theplanet, although I looked after server admin myself. The fact that I'd paid them $15k+ since I'd been a customer didn't make any difference. They charged me $200 to fit a 250GB second HD...

mojohost - had to deal with them for a client once. huge ego heads (i cant believe they won an award). if u are an admin they will drive u nuts. if u need 100% tech support (ie dont know shit about running servers) then they are good for you and priced accordingly.

natnet - worked with them because of nats on mattsmoney.com. they know their shit.

cari - is great if u are a server admin. clean good CHEAP servers on a fast network. i manage over 40 servers with them.

planet - i have some smooth running servers with them. havent even had to log into those servers in almost a year. high price tho. not sure about support. i think u need to twist those mother fuckers a little if they are raping you. have some balls about it.

everybody else on the list - never tried, but i open new servers every month ;)

Net Money 10-08-2009 07:30 AM

timlover as some other people have already mentioned Techiemedia is for sure one of the industries leading hosts. The support they give is so increedible there simply is nothing even close. I've been with them a few years now and i have never experienced any of thos unexplained downtimes, or any slow support, it's been nothing but a fantastic experience.:2 cents::2 cents:

Go for Webair! I'm with them for years, and I'm still pretty happy. They offer 24/7 live support through chat. Of course that service is already included in your monthly fee.

Be sure to hit up one of their sales reps, and I'm sure they will make an offer that's WAY better than the one you have at The Planet right now - with better service!

So how much does a managed server on netnet go for now with 10000 gigs?

raymor 10-09-2009 02:38 PM

To find a host you'll be happy with long term, I think it's important to consider
what's important to you. One host may have the best security available, another
has low prices on large amounts of bandwidth, another responds extremely quickly
to support requests, another has tech support people who actually know what they
are talking about. The other day I had to find a host for a webmaster who is a
bit dyslexic, so phone support is key for him and most of my favorite hosts don't
do phone support. Please rank the following in order of importance to you,
indicating which one is most important, which one second most, etc:

__ price
__ fast friendly service
__ expertise
__ performance (fast servers, network)
__ security
__ shared or smaller accounts
__ dedicated or larger accounts

Techie Media 10-11-2009 04:32 AM

If you want to improve the Quality of your hosting and 1 day is fast enough for a set up then please hit me up. I have a few different server specs in stock and ready to go and I can guarantee you i can put together a custom deal for you that will exceed what you expect from a host. There is no need to overpay for Quality hosting and no need to go cheapie host to get Quality, There is a Middle Ground.:)

:pimp

ContentPimp 10-11-2009 06:54 AM

Webair or Mojohost if you want really really personal service!

Wow, I'd love to read the support history on this if you can give me a point of reference. This is the first time that I've ever heard us referred to as egotistical. We are fanatical about client support and security with our managed customers because this is our responsibility.

If you're an admin and have keys to the kingdom then you wouldn't even be interfacing with my team, you would have wholesale access to our excellent infrastructure and the ability to do whatever you like at the most highly competitive of unmanaged hosting prices.

If you were working for a client who is taking fully managed service from us where I am warrantying the success of their whole online business, yes - we're going to insist on doing things our way because it's our head and on our dime if something goes wrong.

The Planet is great but handle your own admin shit. Their admins are boobs. If something is over your head, hire someone like admingeekz.com to do your admin stuff whenever you need them. You can't beat the planet's prices.

HostGladiator 10-28-2009 10:29 PM
