I built a bat house from a kit, but haven't gotten around to hanging it yet. I guess I'd better get off my ass!!!

He moves around every once in a while and scratches and sneezes and licks his lips. So frigging cool. Pictures aren't coming out well due to the glass and the screen. :thumbsup

My manfriend has been trying to convince me we should do a bathouse, but I am hesitant because I don't want to deal with the bat shit / guano.

I hate those creatures! It´s awful to wake up in the middle of the night with one of those shit flying around the bedroom...

Even a modest sized house can hold hundreds of bats!

I remember as a kid, taking small apples off a tree and tossing them in the air at dusk and watching the bats hone in on them

Thats awesome. Back in the day I was painting a house and there was a Brown Bat underneath the shutter. I grabbed a garden glove and carefully removed him. Any animal that eats upto 1,000 mosquito's a night is good in my book.

This year we lost about 80% of the Bat population in New Jersey due to a mold. It grew on their noses while they hibernated. "They say" it was caused by the wet weather. Poor little fellows.
