Doctor Advise: EAT LOTS OF FAT
My mom's a doctor and she cooks with plenty of fat and salt. Yesterday I chastised her for it, telling her that she should set the example, but her reply made total sense:
"Eating unhealthy will kill you of a heart attack, and that's the best way to die: fast and relatively painlessly. On the other hand, if you take care of what you eat and you have a strong heart, you can die of cancer which hurts like hell or have a stroke and stay in bed as a vegetable for years. So, eat unhealthy and die a good death!" I still won't stuff myself with fried foods but she does have a point! |
sounds like your average obese person trying to rationalize their bad eating.
|
is she fat?
|
See this thread: http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=938786
And yes, i'll settle for a heart attack! :1orglaugh |
Sounds like the Atkins Diet to me.
|
healthy unsaturated fats, perhaps
|
no, she's about 136 lbs. Not fat at all. But she eats very unhealthy :P
She doesn't drink or smoke, though, so apparently she won't die of liver disease or cancer |
Unhealthy food tastes really good! Unfortunately!

this is by far the dumbest shit someone can ever say makes me think in general people are pretty stupid and if you believe this you are a total moron |

And for those of you who think that just obese people have high cholesterol and heart disease, think again. |
I personally stick to the middle ground... I don't obsess about always eating healthy, but I remain aware of things that I consume which are probably not so good. There's times where willpower wins over cravings and I just walk away.
|
What about the direction that says eat healthy, live healthy, and live a healthy life and die peacefully in your bed?
My great grandmother smoked a little and she drank warm beer, nothing heavy, and cooked her own meals every day of her life. Lived on an Indian reservation, today we have no idea what poor is. She died at 103, while taking a nap after cooking the family breakfast... With all the ways to die in the media, it's good to know that people still die in peace. |
i wasn't aware that heart attack = automatic death...eating unhealthy can also cause strokes.
|
omega 3-6-9 damn good time!

thats the line I was referring to which is stupid talk...basically she is promoting unhealthy eating to have a good death? no such thing as a good death, especially one that could of possibly been avoided from bad eating habits. I won't disagree with the fact that she is a total moron! |
oh and let me add
what a shitty fucking doctor |
It's not that simple. Heart disease deaths are NOT ALL quick and painless. Strokes are a bitch.
Better solution: Fight the addiction to extra sugar, fats, and salt. I went on a no sugar, no fats, low salt diet--lost a shitload of weight QUICKLY. The hard part is turning it into a habit. |
She's a doctor and she told her own son that line of bs? There are good fats to eat that your body actually needs but what she said sounds like a terrible excuse for an excuse.
|
fine, i did it right all the time

As if cancer is only caused by smoking and livers only go bust from alcohol. |

There's definitely a moron in this thread but she isn't it. |
if you eat 3 almonds a day you won't get cancer.
actually, your health is pretty much influenced by your diet. however, the medical doctors don't want you to know that. they don't make money when people are healthy. so they tell them to do whatever and fix the symptoms and not the cause of the problem. |
eat what u want

But, suicide is a sin, so I decided not to do it. |

Your mother is an idiot and should not be a doctor. Let's hope she can't pass on her thoughts to anyone and influence their lives.

Omega 6 is in excess in almost everyones diet and also isn't good for you (as it competes with the Omega 3) Omega 6 is made in your body, therefore no need. *Bio available Lycopene being the other one. |

really? so March 18, 1877 – January 3, 1945 is the 1800's? can you tell me why presidents and leaders of industry met with him? you are thick headed and ignorant. there are so many things that people have no idea about in this world. i bet you would of been one of those who would of thought the world was flat. "Today there are thousands of Cayce students, more than 300 books written about Edgar Cayce, members of Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. worldwide and Edgar Cayce Centers found in more than 35 other countries." So what do you believe in, God? some fairly tails written in the bible? how many followers do you have? please, enlighten us. |

"From hundreds of pages of sensational documents, and correspondence that have never before been made public, it is now clear that such luminaries as Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla had trance readings by Cayce, as did engineers at RCA, IBM, Delco, and the president and founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Inventor Mitchell Hastings credited Cayce with helping him to develop FM radio. NBC founder David Sarnoff and his family had secret readings. Remarkable technological and electronic designs provided by Cayce in trance are now used in almost every large hospital and airport in the world. "Edgar Cayce gave readings for Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Gloria Swanson. Readings were conducted for the concerned mother of Ernest Hemingway, who consulted Cayce about her son's writing career. Marilyn Monroe practiced beauty aids that Cayce recommended in trance. Business leader Nelson Rockefeller and labor organizer George Meany availed themselves of Cayce's medical advice. Carl Laemmle of Universal Studios, Harry Goetz of Paramount Pictures, and legendary film pioneer Thomas Ince studied screenplays dictated during Cayce's trance sessions." |
Hey, if he wrote a book it must be true.

at least i look into shit before shooting it down completely. Edgar casey was hugely popular in his time and has continued to be after his death. he has left his mark on this world and a legacy, which is more than i can for anyone here. how many of you will be remembered after 50 years after your deaths for helping others? or be remembered at all by anyone that isn't family for that matter? |
