The DMV, just like inlaws, were put on this planet just to cause pain and frustration.

I cheered to myself driving into the parking lot as it was empty - I was foreseeing NO LINES and a quick license renewal transaction. OF COURSE IT WAS EMPTY!

Damn budget cuts.

You might have lucked out them being closed, now you won't be spending hours there.

Well, my license expires tomorrow and I am flying out of town in a few days (just realized). Good thing I have a couple passports. ;-)

Oh, and as for the rest of my morning - after the DMV fiasco I stopped by Pollo Loco to get some salads for breakfast - they were close too. It took me about 3 weird in the drive through line to realize no one was there to take my order.

I have now locked myself into my office and will not come out for a few hours. Is this Friday 13th???

CosmicTang 11-20-2009 11:11 AM

If you're a AAA member you can go there too. I renewed my registration there and it took about 10 minutes.

Seriously, join AAA. So much faster and easier... and our DMV on Washington is closed for remodeling anyway.

I had to go to the crappy one on the wrong side of the 405 :upsidedow

But I really don't need AAA as I have cars with "free roadside" things.... Hmmm

And if you have a problem while you're in a car that doesn't?

CosmicTang 11-20-2009 11:52 AM

Haha! No, I was thinking more like a friend's car. LA has cabs?

Pretend it doesn't have roadside service, and you only use it for doing DMV stuff like license renewal or picking up boat stickers.

Brother Bilo 11-20-2009 12:22 PM

That is definetely one benefit to living in AZ, I don't have to go to the MVD to renew my license in 2045. I very much like.

baddog 11-20-2009 12:28 PM

That is why you should take advantage of the appointment setting feature.

NaughtyRob 11-20-2009 12:31 PM

I went this morning here in Vegas. Why the hell would they be closed on Fridays in Cali, thats crazy.

docputer 11-20-2009 12:33 PM

You can't renew by internet? I know we can renew over the internet, mail, or walk-in

I don't miss LA DMV. Where I am now, you're in and out in about 30 minutes, and they print you're new license while you wait.
