Please Explain TGPs
So I see TGPs all the time and when you go to the site and click on the pic it sometimes takes you to another TGP. What's going on here? I'm confused as to how TGPs work. Can someone explain it to a newb?
thanks |

TGP Galleries are gathered free galleries from paysites, all bunched up in a pile of thumbs. When clicked they either take you to the paysite's free gallery, in hope people get horny enough to join the paysite, and you get paid a comissiion fee to send the person to the page and make him or her join. Occasionally, it takes you to another TGP (this is called Skim, Traffic Trade). This is mainly to get the traffic coming. All TGP's that "trade" with eachother can all be considered to be in some kind of "network". However, some webmasters abuse this to jerk visitors around. Most "quality' TGP's have at least 60-65% content, but many of them have a very low content rate, and a very high skim rate. That's jerking around people.

I once owned a TGP and in my experience it was not very profitable. The traffic was great, but the sales sucked. The way to make money with TGP's these days is selling advertisment spots and traffic. :2 cents: |

Eventhough I wasn't the one asking the question, I really appreciated the answer, being a newb and all :) Thanks!!

I can't believe there is a wikipedia entry for TGP's now.

its all about trade, to keep the traffic alive

It helps bringing your own traffic to the table.

Tamashi says exactly what I would say. TPG's because of the automation they have can be used by unethical programmers to spread viruses and Trojans and other malware. Content is often the same as other TPG's and low quality. Google and other search engines don't index TPG's and this has lead to a dramatic decline in traffic. The few that pioneered TPG's did well, but now there are Thousands of TPG's all with similar content. Google and other search engines no longer index TPG's so finding quality traffic is hard. Perhaps the Chinese may surf your site but they won't buy. |

well explained :thumbsup bump! for explanation:thumbsup:thumbsup |
A simple explanation could be:
The TGP sites need to send each other traffic to trade traffic and grow traffic. Sometimes they will send traffic to the FHG, but sometimes they will send traffic to traders. |
