She REALLY changed from the late 90s and I wouldn't be surprised if it was from drugs. I used to be a HUGE fan of hers. She was super hot, especially in Phoenix. RIP Brittany - after a year of mostly older celebs dying, this one kind of hits home, ugh.

Yea doesn't seem like she had been in much notable lately, but was in a lot of great movies in the 90s and early this decade. Phoenix is one of my faves and Drive is a pretty interesting one for a couple of movies to watch with her. Freeway, Don't Say a Word, Girl Interrupted, Sidewalks of New York, Sin City, Trixie, and others...lots of good stuff.

UPDATE 3:11 PM ET -- Sources tell TMZ Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're told when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
We're told the LA County Coroner's is picking up Murphy's body from Cedars later today and will launch an investigation.

She was just fired from a movie in Puerto Rico and the studio had her and her hubby kicked out of the country because they were supposedly trying to sabotage production.

Upon arrival in LA paramedics were called for him, as he was pretty much out of it. They blamed it on asthma and refused medical treatment and evaluation.

The suicide angle could work, but I'm betting drugs and it won't bode well for her husband.

Over 25,000 children died today around the world too, and nobody gives a shit. Nobody made threads for them on a single message board. Yet some Hollywood slut dies, and it's sad and global news.

I'll remember that when anyone in your family dies. I couldn't care less personally that it's global news...she was at one point one of my favorite actresses, my brother even met her when working on the set of Freeway, so *I* take it as sad news personally.

I'm probably twice your age, or more, and have watched both my parents die and one of my boys. Both my sisters have passed, as have most of my cousins. None of which I made threads on the internet about.

Eh.. for me.. movies like Clueless and Girl, Interrupted were a big part of my preteen/teen years... i'm not like crushed or anything... but a few of her movies did play kinda big parts in the generation of mid 20s girls...

That's not to say that most of the webmasters posting on here are in that generation ;) but... there are people out there who did relate to her stuff at really vulnerable ages...

According to reports, Brittany Murphy was fired from an upcoming film that was shooting in Puerto Rico for being difficult on set and a detriment to production.

We're not sure which film, but Murphy's IMDB profile indicates that this film may have been The Caller, which also stars True Blood cast member Stephen Moyer.

It took about 15 seconds for Brittany to be replaced, too. Twilight and New Moon star Rachelle Lefevre reportedly hopped on a plane as soon as Murphy was out.

A source also says that Brittany was so pissed about getting booted from the film that she didn't want to leave Puerto Rico and had "plans to sabotage the film."

That would qualify her as a Grade A nut job.

The really interesting part of Brittany's movie set ouster was that the weird British con-artist she married in 2007, Simon Monjack, got into a fight with some locals.

Could there be a connection between the whole Puerto Rico incident and Monjack arriving at LAX airport "incoherent" and having to be hospitalized Saturday?

Murphy thought that Simon Monjack was having an asthma attack, but medical personnel boarding the plane evidently felt it might be even more serious.

Con-jack was released from the hospital last night and even picked up some burgers before heading home, but it makes you wonder ... burgers? Really Simon?!

Not an objective article, but if even partially true, it does paint a poor picture of both (and lends more credence to the drug theory).
