Interesting info about the movie:
Dustin Hoffman was on Howard Stern's show a little while back and he said at the time The Graduate was filmed he was 30 and Anne Bancroft was only 35. They made him up to look younger (and he looked naturally young to begin with) and made her up to look older.
He said when he got that part he was about 6 months from leaving show biz to get a regular job because he told himself he would give himself until he was 30 to make it. Had he not gotten that part he very well may have left to teach drama or do something else.
