Have you ever used a pawn shop?
Just found this new reality series called Pawn Stars and I love it.
My dad as a hobby owned an antique store when I was a kid. I met the show stars in vegas at the gun store when I was firing machine guns - really cool guys and easy to talk to. But to be honest I had never been in a pawn shop in my life till this last trip. I wasn't impressed with the merchandise... I've never sold anything to one. Admit I'm kinda prejudiced - always thought they were for theives to sell their tools and ipods at...and for junkies to have them hold their video games till their next gov;t check... does anyone here have any pawn shop experiences... Very curious......... |
yeah, when i was 16 lol

You can take a chance buying cheap Xbox or PS3 games that you wouldn't bother wasting money on buying brand new. Same with DVD's ... just check they arent badly scratched and you can sell them back at a minimal loss when your done with it. They're a lot better than the ghetto pawn shops. no point in keeping crap you don't need |
Pawned a braclet from my ex just before I got married... figured it was worth $5. Think it was worth about $900 at the time of purchase lol

When I was a kid they were everywhere.

I've looked but never purchased... The tools as you mentioned are interesting... But when in need I've just rented them at Home Depot.

in college anytime something was stolen, we would check this pawn shop about 15 minutes away. one time my neighbor got his guitar pedal stolen and sure enough ended up at the pawn shop. the sleeze ball owner didn't want to give it back to him even though it had his name carved in the bottom (smart kid), but after a call to the police, things were resolved easily.
years ago I had a ring that i bought a gf in high school as a "promise ring" and paid about $100 bucks for it. when we broke up she threw it back at me and years later i found while going through some crap. so i took it to a pawn shop in LA and got $150 cash... great investment :thumbsup |
payday loan business i hear is doing well, 500 bucks 4 weeks u make i think 125 profit
no clue if its true or not but if your going tht route consider that |
