epassporte - haiti donations
 

when tsunami hitted south east asia, the owners of epassporte did special donation account for the users of epassporte.
it could be good to make it once again, since i am lazy fuck and would prefer to donate money in this way.

I did it through iTunes store, very convenient if you got account there.

Barely any money you guys donate will get the cause. I read somewhere that in the BEST performing charity, only something like 10% actually gets to the cause. The rest is spent on marketing, offices, etc

Got some links on that? People always make those claims, but I've yet to see stats backing up anything at that level.

you can either donate to the red cross or to my epass :)

because it's a myth only proven by fake ass donation companies scamming everyone, not the decent ones (ex: red cross)

well, even the Red Cross had some questionable movement of money that they collected for 9/11, but nothing to the tune of 90% used for office/marketing/etc.

'100% goes to charity' as a tag line doesn't mean what it used to.

These text campaigns are great in the long run but where is the money really going to go? Americans donated $150 million via text in the 1st 3 days after the disaster but it will take 30-60 days for this money to reach the charity (so CNN says).
