Chemicals in Food Can Make You Fat
Has human anatomy changed? No, but food has changed a lot. Foods that were healthy 50 years ago may not necessarily be healthy in 2010.

Glad this is finally hitting the public eye.

Wow! Interesting!
We (my family) are starting to change. I knew bout the hormones in meat. That's why we rarely eat beef any more. (we eat 95% meat I hunt) Also we started raising our own chickens for eggs. (but i can't eat my chickens yet) They are like little pets. |
i've been reading about this, seems there's solid research that this issue causes serious genetic issue with babies drinking canned formula from plastic baby bottles.

Well, we're on our own now. Time to start our own farms.
If Obama proposes any fixes to these problems the right will call him a socialist. In an effort to make sure Obama gets nothing done, the GOP will have to fight to keep poisons in our food supply! |

Detectable in 75 percent of Americans, phthalates are plastic softeners that mimic estrogen. They're found in the lining of canned foods and beverages, sports drink bottles, and pesticides.
:Oh crap |
"Food can make you fat"
|
In other news, driving everywhere, doing no exercise and consuming more calories than you burn can also make you fat.
|
It's not just about getting fat - we've all become corporate lab experiments.
Everything we consume nowadays has been contaminated, one way or the other. |

We should immediately triple what we spend on all of our states education systems. Keeping them stupid keeps them maleable and makes getting their vote simple as a crooked preacher can get some tail, but it really creates a situation where they get dangerously ignorant.

with all the conspiracy theories around here, when something like this comes along that is certainly a conspiracy, while perhaps not orchestrated as such in the beginning, but a conspiracy not unlike how tobacco manufacturers handle their business, it's important that people need to take this seriously.
this information needs to get out to more people. |
not sure if anyone read the article i linked, but think of the implications compounded over the lifespan of a person that result from being fed canned processed milk from a plastic bottle as a baby. and the millions and millions of babies who are fed this way- that's a serious issue.

ive not taken a prescription med in like 10 years, my family used to think i was a quack, now they call me when they are sick.. there are many herb/vitamins that are for example way better at curing the flu than theraflu.. when i got a flu what do i do? i drink a lot of water, and take some natural immune boosting supplements, and i get well fast.. anyway try earthclinic.com and search what your wife has, it may help... |
Maybe the world will really end in 2012. Then we won't have to worry about all of these things any more.

Growing your own open pollinated heriloom vegetables is a good start. Thats going to take care of most, if not all, of your nutritional needs right there.

Breatfeeding is pretty important. I mean, if there are legit health reasons and you can't, you can't. But if it's just a preference / don't want to be inconvenienced, it really does make for healthier babies. You need to pass on those antibodies.
When I was a kid I used to always catch Croup. It put me in the hospital a few times. One of the things they said at the time was because I was a formula baby my immune system wasn't strong enough. I don't know if I'll have kids, but if I were to, you can bet your ass I would do everything in my power to make sure they don't have to deal with the same shit. It's just healthier. |

But thanks for trying. |

we are planning on getting some more property and having another ranch.. Nothing like fresh eggs. |
Very interesting read!

people are fat because they eat caloric dense foods, all this article does is give obese people another excuse for why they are fat, if its not a gland issue its pesticides and hormones in the food, there is no way it could be the 10,000 calories they eat a day from mcdonalds and twinkies.

There's a lot of shit in food these days and one can't really escape it...but one can limit the quantity of shit ingested with a healthier diet :2 cents:

It's funny because when I eat a reasonable amount of calories and exercise regularly, I stay in shape. If I stop exercising and start eating lots of crap, I turn into a disgusting mass of lard and pus who'd be at the Dairy Queen if I could walk. And I've been eating all this hormone-fed beef and plasticized fish all my life.
These chemicals might make a slight difference at the margins, but it's ultimately an issue of how much you're putting in your mouth and the amount of exercise you get. |

pigs. 2 meals at every meal and neither ever gain a pound. Something is there with the genetics, has to be. Any american girl eating that much would gain 5 pounds a week. |
Not surprising at all. Food quality is going into the shitter.
