my old router SSID was "NO FREE INTERNET FOR YOU HA HA" and I had it setup for mac address filtering only, so it looked like an open network

i hated when people would have the default name and the default password setup for linksys on an open network. i would log in and change settings just to be a jerk

i called mine "Trojan Test" - so far no hacking attempts ;)

That made me larf - oh, what a neighbourhood!

My buddy lived in a highrise condo, and left his wifi open... the name was his unit number, like "suite704" or something like that. A few times people came by and knocked on the door to chat, and once someone dropped a case of beer off.

A few months ago I helped my brother set up his WiFi. When I went to connect to it there were several networks (all from his neighbors) that I could see. One of them was called, "Ashley stop stealing our WiFi."

I just got an idea ... the complex across the street from my house has a lot of illegals. I'm friendly with most of them and they'd appreciate the joke. I'm going to change mine to "INS Remote Agent Network" just to see if anyone asks if it was me. They'll probably figure it out.

Man I gotta fuck around with my SSID on the router and make some fake funny names too...

What would actually impress me is if he was wardriving and took some pics of his laptop and the wireless networks around his car...

Now that would be impressive. But probably not as funny.

I need to change mine from Linksys and actually add a password to my network.

My neighbors are quite conservative so I'm not sure what I will set mine to. Maybe "ShutYourFuckingDogsUP!" will work since their dogs like to go nuts every time I'm in my driveway or outside.
