Reporter compares Vancounver Olympics to Nazi Olympics in 36

"Team Canada hockey jerseys became the uniform of the streets. Maple leafs were either hanging or on clothing everywhere.

One thing I never saw: a simple flag or shirt with the five Olympic rings. Not anywhere. After 15 Olympics, that was a first.

I didn't attend the '36 Olympics, but I've seen the pictures. Swastikas everywhere.

No political reference is meant, just an Olympic one. What on earth were the Canadians thinking?"

REST OF STORY HERE

Canadians = Nazis of the 21st century.

Beware people!!!! They are not America's happy, snowy hat! They are the 4th Reich massing up there!

What a fucking tool.

candyflip 03-03-2010 09:03 AM

Seems his arguments regarding ticket sales seem to hold some water.

All of the Canadian gold medalist should now be compared to serial killers, as they killed everyone they competed against.

Kenny B! 03-03-2010 09:12 AM

Unreal what some people will put in writing to get attention, Idiot.

JFK 03-03-2010 10:17 AM

There was embracing, all right, but then Canadians have always had the reputation for drinking a lot of beer. The loose marijuana laws only added to the nightly revelry in the downtown streets -- which, frankly, seemed to have little to do with the Olympics:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:thumbsup

Up against da wall mutha fucka:ak47::BangBang:

madm1k3 03-03-2010 10:21 AM

When you got to a home game for any sporting event aren't the people there mostly wearing the home team's jersey?

Elli 03-03-2010 10:49 AM

He does have a good point about ticket sales. I was surprised not to see more out-of-towners, really.

spunky99 03-03-2010 11:14 AM

I don't agree with him, but there should be freedom of speech, so I'm glad it exists in Canda. People are almost afraid the word nazi, as if there weren't worse people in the history, who killed many more people. Actually, if anyone(king, whoever) killed many people hundreds years ago, he is looked at as a hero nowadays. People are stupid.

Sid70 03-03-2010 11:18 AM

Sport is overrated. Has nothing to do with real values. Move on.

Thats true...but mostly sport gets people closer together. There are some bad apples, idiots who use sport as an excuse to beat someone up, but for the most part it helps. For example during the olympics...I'm sure fans from different countries were spending time together, drinking beer and just hanging out, no matter what country they are from. Without any prejudice.
