Make your own Wind Turbine (tutorial)
 

If you're getting on the whole "off grid" trend that's getting big recently, here's an awesome tutorial on how to turn an old alternator into your own wind turbine. Many junk shops have really old alternators for dirt cheap. This works best if you live out in the country where there's a lot of open space and strong winds.
