Photoshop CS5 : Killer App [video]

I've heard talk about 'content aware fill' for ages now, but this actually left me impressed.

Looks like they've really done their homework here, and got a finely tuned power-tool.

candyflip 03-24-2010 12:21 PM

Impressive, especially that last example.

hypedough 03-24-2010 12:25 PM

Amazing, simply amazing. Hands down one of the most powerful tools I've seen built-in.

alias 03-24-2010 12:25 PM

That is slick.

dyna mo 03-24-2010 12:27 PM

photoshopped!

j/k, i will be picking up the new version, i'm blown away.

Photoshop 'Porn Tool' undressing your family members?

Mutt 03-24-2010 12:34 PM

Alien Skin's Image Doctor Smart Fill plugin has been doing this for years - not sure the last time Image Doctor was updated/improved, sometimes it works as well as what I see in this video, sometimes not as well, i use it on tattoos a lot. this looks like a significant advancement.

Tanker 03-24-2010 12:36 PM

very nice indeed

Dirty Lord 03-24-2010 12:37 PM

oh my, really impressive! i wanna that CS5

BestXXXPorn 03-24-2010 12:37 PM

All of the "content aware" stuff is awesome, very impressive. Even as a programmer I find it difficult to grasp the formulas that make this stuff possible... Way too deep into the trig and advanced calc, lol

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 03-24-2010 12:39 PM

That is fucking slick!

Hey Mutt. Did you see the last two segments of the video? This thing makes Image Doctor look like the clone stamp :)

garce 03-24-2010 12:59 PM

When he said they were gonna clean up the garbage I was hoping that "content aware" would be used to delete the ugly bitch in the green dress.

woj 03-24-2010 01:00 PM

u-Bob 03-24-2010 01:07 PM

yeah the last example is way beyond what Image Doctor can do - i said that. but the first examples are what Image Doctor does, it's old technology now but it works pretty well in certain situations.

V_RocKs 03-24-2010 03:52 PM

Some really cool shit coming down the pike right now.

Was just checking some shit out where they finally created software that will do what the FBI/CSI "can you clean that up a bit?" fake TV software does in real life.

I got to see a demo of it up close and was totally blown away. They were taking parts of the picture out (not totally redtailed parts like remove a lock an expect it to know the area had a lock there or anything) and it drew the area back in realistically. Kind of like this is doing only you could give it a totally blurry photo with artifacts and crap all over it and it'd clean it up to crystal clear...

Think the shitty stills you get from a convenience store camera.

Doug E 03-24-2010 05:09 PM

I had to check the calendar, felt like April 1st watching that video. Insane technology.

Ladyboy King 03-24-2010 05:34 PM

The question is, who is going to BUY CS5 and who is going to use a crack?

That shit ain't gonna be cheap, and for guys who don't make a million dollars a day like he rest of you, Adobe can be a little steep. Thank God for student discounts?

NaughtyRob 03-24-2010 05:39 PM

Unreal! I can't wait for that!! That will save me tons and tons of time editing model's pics.

BV 03-24-2010 05:45 PM

fucking amazing that is

Lace 03-24-2010 08:11 PM

Wow that is simply awesome! I know the time it takes to remove objects from a photo and retouch them - this will be a HUGE time saver!!

Very nice, Adobe! :thumbsup :thumbsup

bronco67 03-24-2010 10:38 PM

My photo retoucher buddy will shit a log when he sees this.

Adam_M 03-24-2010 11:01 PM

Cyber Fucker 03-25-2010 08:16 AM

I am still on CS2 but it really looks like worth buying... when I will have some spare bucks I will think about it. I have been playing with photoshop since I was a kid... cuz I was doing art. Now I design all my websites myself so I use photoshop almost everyday.

The Duck 03-25-2010 08:35 AM

That looks great. I am still using CS3.

martinsc 03-25-2010 10:54 AM

And that's what this promotion is all about. Lets face it. You can do all those things with both the earlier editions of the programs you guys have. It takes more steps. So I can't believe photoshop has to promote itself due to competition because no program compares

And honestly, there was nothing special about that panaroma. :1orglaugh It actually came out looking like something you could do with the very first cloning tool and the proper tolerance settings.

Denny 03-25-2010 11:48 AM

Very nice!

And who the fuck took those photographs? He ought to be legally obligated to never touch a camera again?

John. 03-25-2010 12:44 PM

very cool tool
