Just how much disgust and disdain do you need?

As societies advance and more basic needs are met, fame rises to the top of the agenda as people's main aspiration.

The problem is that we as a public allow them to become famous. No matter how trashy, slutty, drugged up or criminal they may be, there's always sycophants willing to kiss their asses so they can bask in their 15 minutes or somehow profit off them. We as a society love to watch lives self destruct before us. It's public voyeurism at it's very best.
These people don't make out laws, save or lives, make scientific advances are achieve greatest in any meaningful way, yet we cling on to their every hollow word, buy every lame record, waste our lives watching them on t.v.
The cult of 'celebrity' is an amazing thing.
