Fucking Russians Adding me to ICQ
 

Is anyone else getting hammered by these fucks? At least 5 a day. I simply block them ASAP. The question is, where are they getting the ICQ numbers? Is GFY member list open to the public? :helpme

Yup, getting four or five ICQ adds per day and I block 'em immediately. They always have weird symbols and names and who the FUCK would accept such an add but a MO-ron?

I Seek a better ICQ.

I thought I had a virus when I kept hearing congratulations, you've won. I've had banners and ads blocked since I got this version of icq, but evidently that flash audio is sneaking through anyway. Who's got the new blocker to kill that ad?

i get AT LEAST 5 a day also along with msgs from the same uins. it is very very annoying. Anyone have a solution for pidgin?

5 day? fuck, i've been getting like 5 an hour for about a week now...

Happens to me every time and I use a Russian created IM called QIP (which is incredibly stable) all it sends is plain text, so I have no idea about any audio things, but I get hammered with spam. The problem for me is that we have a presence on RU webmaster boards, so I also get hit up by legit webmasters who write in Russian... I end up replying to the spammers once ugh!

Yes, and I had them too mainly from my country, even by using Trillian.
But not more often RU spammers than CN. I think 95% are robots penetrating our nervs.
You should try http://www.miranda-im.org which works perfect for me.
Everybody can send messages to your ICQ number, but they are only accepted if the sender can answer a back question :thumbsup

I've got no problem with icq but my skype is fucked up all the time by them... they can even add themselves to mine list... wtf? Skype software is a piece of shit... good I don't have it installed on my main (webmastering only) pc.

I'm still figuring out why you all use ICQ instead of Skype or AIM.
