Win7 Users: How do I....
I've set the power options through the control panel so that the HDD should never sleep and the display should never sleep, and I have screensaver set to 'Never'. I have the machine doing some work that will take a while, and I don't want the screen going dark, but it still goes black after 10-15 minutes.
WTF am I doing wrong? This shit works properly on my Macs. :helpme |
It's in the power settings, you're simply missing it.

There could be a switch in your BIOS.

Follow this step by step and it should work. Did you change to high performance first then set all options to NEVER? |

Was the only thing I can find that still was set to a time. They buried that setting good. |
Have you done it for both on battery and plugged in?
Go in the advanced options, there's all kinds of settings in there for turn off disks / hibernate / hybrid sleep and all that BS. Turn it all off. |

Run > powercfg.cpl > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings
If that doesn't work it is being managed by something other than Windows. |
buy new refrigerate

That was it.... the 'Hybrid Sleep' setting.
Muchos Gracias! |

Works nicely when you've got 30'' of screenspace to play with. |
