It's no big deal to write code that moves images like that but the point in flash is that you don't have to write code unless you want to. This is really what people should be looking at : http://koolmoves.com A $49 program that does just about anything Flash CS4 can do. The only reason I use CS4 is because it's a standard to deliver the source file. |
Over engineered solution is over engineered... but impressive that someone would spend that much time to produce an inferior product. :P

not bad, but looks no different from flash, what's the point of reinventing the wheel?

A kid who can't write a single line of code can use flash to make a better animation than that and do it faster. That animation required jpgs to be drawn and then saved and the jpgs are fixed and can only be re-sized. But in flash you draw the image and then you can "morph" the image in anyway you want; no just resizing the image. Here's some flash : http://ooaz.com I don't see myself making those games in html5 or CSS3. |
That is amazing. I can't wait until HTML 5 and CSS3 become mainstream. It's a lot of new learning but will be worth it.

This is just a "new" way of doing that. They probably say "it's easier", but it won't be and in the end we will still have a flash engine that's the same in every browser but the new stuff will be browser dependent(as it already is). |
only safari or chrome... then css skills are good, but thats it.
|
(x)html/css over flash anytime.
