Anyone On Here Have An Aquarium ???

Moving house next month and been thinking what to do with some of the rooms. Been thinking of getting an aquarium again and getting some nice fish. Had one a few years ago and had some amazing types of tropical fish in there. Would be nice to get one similar to that again.

Any of you guys have an aquarium at home? Post up some pics please if you do... :)

I've got a tiny ten gallon fresh tank now with a handful of glofish, snail, frogs and some red platys. Not worth taking pictures of.

When I get some extra time and money of course, I want to build a huge salt tank. :)

Way overstocked.

No pics here at the office, but I have a 55 gallon at home.

Best piece of advice is wherever you put it, make sure you can get to a faucet for it when cleaning it out via a python or something.

We have a small 8 gallon tank with 4 lovely goldfish. It looks nice in the kitchen, especially at night with the lights on. I think any size tank with water & fish makes a room relaxing. A definate must to you Scotty. Good luck with your move mate.

What they don't tell you is that photos like this are taken a few hours after cleaning. I can tell because there are no dead leaves, no plant matter floating around and the fish haven't flattened out the gravel yet. That particular tank isn't going to look like that all the time unless it is maintained a couple times per week.

No, they are gay.

A years ago I use to have a small one, but I am too lazy to keep that in order.(cleaning stuff, feeding on time...) and I sold it out.

Always wanted one but i have a hard time keeping a few plants alive in my house, let alone a whole aquarium full of fish lol.

NaughtyRob 05-17-2010 08:10 PM

I have a small 10 gallon, nothing good enough to take pics of but its fun.

Taking care of a fish tank is a pain in the ass. lol

I've got a huge one sitting empty in the foyer because we just got tired of sucking the fish crap out of the rocks. We let the fish die off naturally and when they were all gone, we just emptied it. (When I say naturally, we still cleaned the tank, still fed them, etc.. just when they died, we didn't replace them)

I've got a 75 gallon tank at home filled with a ton of fish.

It's got pool filter sand in it and it looks natural (much better than colored pebbles as substrate!).

I've got a large variety of plants, and there are NO dead plant leaves because my snail army (mystery snails and trumpet snails) make quick work of dying vegetation.

I vacuum my sand maybe once every 2 months. I clean my filter once every 2 months - and this only because I need to change out the filter pads before they become too clogged up.

I top off the water level once every 2 weeks.

And I do twice daily feedings of the fish.

Keeping a well stocked, healthy and mostly self-keeping aquarium only requires hard work at the beginning to get your chemicals well balanced. After that, just sit back and enjoy the view!

This one is awesome.
