Unprofessional Models!!!! ugh (RANT)

I had a professional model looking to venture into adult, who learned of me through someone I worked with so already a referral. We then e-mail chat for a week or so and we set up an appointment to meet for lunch, she was very professional showing me front, back, headshot photos. Gave me stats and knew right off the bat what she was ok with doing on camera. She called to confirm before I did (Up to this point I wished everyone was this easy) and then 30 minutes later she texted me a message that said something like this.... "Nobody owns a legit adult company, you are just a married man trying to cheat on your wife and I will not be used in this way."

I then proceed to tell her I am not married and we are just meeting for lunch anyways. She tells me some guy from Craigslist tried to have sex with her (SURPRISE :upsidedow). I then explain that its craigslist and not to expect much from the adult section there and direct her to some more legit places with info about me, and other work ive done etc. But she said she didn't want to meet and I just left it at that, waste of time.

What is going through these peoples heads? Sometimes I just want to punch my monitor seriously, who calls to confirm like 1 hr in advance and then txt cancels 30 minutes later because of some bull shiat?:mad::mad:

BTW shes a milf so not 18 or something.

----------

Then I had another girl, no show on a meeting... who BEGGED me to meet with her. She wouldn't pick up the phone or answer email I sent while I was waiting from my phone.:mad::mad::mad:

In my area we have a website where you can write stuff about models, good bad etc. My opinion is to stay out but I feel like maybe I should post some of the crazier ones on there. I won't but I REALLY REALLY WANT TO!!!!! FUCK PEOPLE WHO BEG TO MEET WITH YOU AND THEN DONT SHOW!!!! I HATE YOU!!!!

</end rant>

I completely feel your pain.

I could write a book or two with experiences dealing with models over the years.

:disgust

Why are you meeting a prospective model for lunch? If you're interested in shooting her, the only reasons to meet her for are a brief interview and test shots. The fact you're interested in meeting her in a social situation--lunch--is a red flag. I don't blame her for being leery.

I'm actually surprised I'm posting this... if you had a clue, you would've figured this out for yourself instead of whining about it on GFY.

AdPatron 05-17-2010 09:45 PM

I agree. Have her come to your office FIRST!

brentbacardi 05-17-2010 09:56 PM

Not really lunch but just out somewhere public really. She requested it and I don't have a problem with it. I didn't say hey lets get lunch, shes just like can we meet out somewhere and I said ok at like a coffee shop or something and she said how about at an applebees etc and I said fine. Didn't make that clear. Yeah I wouldn't meet up with someone for actual lunch and be stuck there with them for too long, esp if they are weirdos. Ive worked with quite a few models who just told me when and where and I just met up said hey whats up for a few and then left. Most others I already have met so the awkward first meet situation isnt there.

I would meet at office but I don't have a need for an office just to post on GFY... All I do is shoot on locations. All computer work is just the computer rendering HD vids and stuff.

I always offer the option to meet in a neutral location, usually a cafe in a place convenient for them - or for them to come to our office, it's their call. Sometimes the talent really appreciate the fact that I'm willing to go out of my way to make them feel comfortable for a first meet - especially for first timers. I'm always just very clear that it's up to them.

Oddly enough, all my no-shows are the ones that wanted to come to the office *shrug* - works for me though, didn't have to go out! hehe

Thats because some chicks can't make up their minds. I hear the same shit all the time. They are all for it and then its ignore time.

I don't have a problem with them changing their mind but they could call, txt, email something to let me know. Or show up to the meeting just to chat and find out more. Sofaking annoying!!!

I think its women, they don't act logical. :winkwink: JK

Been there... She needs the money so badly she'll do anything, and then at the 11th hour a friend comes through with the loan.

I had a model decide she didn't want to do porn halfway through a boy/girl scene.

literally sat there with a cock in her and said "I don't think I can do this" after 20 minutes. We stopped and she went into the bathroom to change and her friend she brought offered to come back and do the scene herself the next day. Never had that happen before.

But I'd say 2 out of every 5 new girls I talk to flakes. Once they meet me they're fine and it's almost always in a nuetral location by them, makes them feel better I guess. Once they see you're not some creepy pervert most of them are cool.

On their end though I couldn't imagine being a new girl to the industry and going at it alone, having to put my trust in people when 90% of the people that claim they're in the industry aren't and are just trying to get some ass.

Any time I send a girl on her way I always tell them they're welcome to contact me for any questions regarding other people they are considering working with. Some of the shit I hear from them after the fact is unbelievable and it's no wonder some girls are nervous.

Might as well get used to it. I have heard so many flipping excuses from models that I could write a book. It won't be the last time either...just keep moving, don't ever consider her for work again and be sure to let your producer friends know about her so they don't waste any time on her ;)

seeandsee 05-18-2010 05:39 AM

models can be shifty but you need to overhead problems

Altwebdesign 05-18-2010 05:44 AM

man, thats very unfortunate, looks like you did everything you could to show you were genuine, better luck with future models!

SteveHardeman 05-18-2010 06:04 AM

I just consider model no-shows part of the business. I pretty much only shoot first-timers so I expect it to happen a fair portion of the time. I'm disappointed but I don't worry about it that much. Shit, I had one girl call me to tell me she's in the parking lot and on her way up and THEN disappeared on me. Shit happens.

I don't black-ball them from shooting for me later either. I've got some awesome scenes out of girls who have stood me up once or twice. It's natural for them to be nervous so I'm extremely nice and professional with them even if they've stood me up and sometimes they'll come back around. Now, I do shoot everything myself so there's really no cost to me if they don't show. That probably isn't the case with other producers so I can see their frustration. Just telling how I handle it.

I would not trash the girls on your local website either. I'd try to stick out by being considered the number one nicest most professional producer in town whether the girl deserves professionalism or not. Word will eventually get around. It'll pay off in the long run.

Zorgman 05-18-2010 06:06 AM

I had 1 girl send me some pictures she took. She wanted a shoot done and I asked her what type of camera she used for her test shots.
Her reply was "its not a camera!". I replied with "what do you mean? what model of camera do you use?" then her last email replied with "it's a cell phone".
She's was 22 years old. Some girls just live to annoy me.

Most girls that contact me don't even get to the point where their interested, they just want to see if someone would shoot them and when they get that far they back out quickly.

No, not really. It was kind of funny really.

Sounds to me like she's not that informed with craigslist. Her confusion with adult and the adult section in craigslist cracked me up!

Nice post. I agree navigating the waters as an incoming adult model these days would be hell. The cons...the agents...the BS and that's just to get a shoot.
