The census jobs were specifically classified as "temporary" and only averaged 8 weeks per worker, so I do not think those workers can collect unemployment benefits based upon the termination of that work, but I could be wrong... |
Census takers (enumerators), crew leaders, QAC staff, etc. are temporary federal employees and are not eligible for benefits such as health insurance, sick leave, or disability. However, census workers will be able to file for unemployment insurance after their term of service ends, if they do not find another job.

Shut off the unemployment benefits and watch that % drop quickly :2 cents:

As Governments cut back on spending to pay off the debts then expect unemployment to go up. I started working back in the days when we were not importing $billions from China and the rest of the third world. Then jobs were plentiful, crime low and the outlook good. Look at what you have around you and what you're wearing. Then ask yourself how many banking, retail and technical jobs it takes to mop up the jobs of those who use to make these goods. |
