Good Message Board Software To Use ??? Help Please...
 

Anyone recommend me a decent message board platform/software ???

Paid or Free... just looking for something I can create as a stand alone site for the new network of big boob sites we're launching... and also mirror it in the sites themselves for the girls to post on...

Let me know what you guys think works best, preferably one that is less likely to get hacked lol... and some functionality would be nice ;)

along with plenty of problems if youre forming a serious site....

If safety and spam issues arent that crucial... roll with phpbb

If youre looking for a monster, get Vbulletin...

As I said we dont mind paying as security is important... we want to create a stand alone message board aimed at the big boob niche... but then also mirror it inside our big boob paysite member areas... so dont want to leave any holes that people can exploit... oh that sounded dirty !

The newest Vbulletin is pimp--blogs, front magazine page, and buff forum. The front magazine portion would be great for adult sites.

Vbulletin USED to be the best. I wouldn't waste taking a dump on it now...

Go IPB...or find a used vb license and use 3.8.

What he said. The 3.8 branch is still king. V4 is complete and utter shit and I would not use it as a platform.

vbulletin 4 has a lot of bugs.

Hey Thanks dude my old eyes missed it the first time lol...

One of the big things we want to do is replicate the message board in the members areas of some new sites we're doing... but we want a section which will be members only... so in the stand alone board people wont be able to access... but if they are members of the paysites they will...

Does that sound doable in the boards people are suggesting ? :helpme

You can make subforums that are only accessible to certain groups, yes. So for instance, if you don't want the 'Guests' group to have access, you just disallow it in the backend. Syncing member usernames & passwords to the board db is another question though, and I don't know how to do that.
